what's good people?
got a quick question regarding leg work.
last Sunday I did a grueling hamstring workout...
stifflegged deadlifts, PR's on curls and iso curls, very rewarding.
so rewarding, in fact, they are still sore today (five days later). I had a rest day on Monday and yesterday (Thursday) as well.
...today is usually quads and calf work.
ima list my quad part of the workout so yall can help me with my concern.
is this gonna end up overworking my hamstrings if I plan on hitting them hard on Sunday?

quad work:
4 sets of hack squats
5 sets of heavy leg presses
4 sets of drop set leg extensions

going big boy style on the leg presses since I injured my lower back squatting a couple weeks ago. gonna have to revamp my squat form in the coming weeks with lower weight, more concentration.

so what yall think? headed to the gym in about three hours.
one.

You don't "overtrain" muscles.

The term "over" and "training" is often assumed to mean "training too much". It doesn't refer to how frequently you train a muscle so much. You don't get insomnia, increased heart rate, difficulty breathing, loss of appetite, high cortisol elevation, and etc. from doing too many barbell curls.

It is the nervous system. You're fine to train your hamstrings.

I feel you on the overtraining terminology thing.
I was referring to exercises targeting quads but using a little of the hamstrings, while the hamstrings were sore.
I was concerned with tearin ham muscle fibers on quad day before the ones that were torn on ham day fully recovered.
