View Full Version : Tryin' out Cuts
Ive used almost everything Animal has put out except Cuts. About to start my three weeks but have a questions about timing with meals (becuase food is priority haha)
For the first pack, would it be ok to take it immediately upon waking at 8am and have breakfast at 830am? Is this too close? Also, is it fine to sip EAA stack while cooking breakfast (ive been doing this for a lonnng time haha), or shoudl you not have anything in your stomach with Cuts?
And for the second pack, pre workout, would it be ideal to take it around 230, eat at 3, and train at 4? Or should I eat at 3, and take the Cuts right before training?
Sorry for the annoying, picky questions- just want to get the most out of the supplement ya know.

Ok. Ya wake up at 8am. You have breakfast 30 min later. What does breakfast usualy look like? When do you train? Lifting or cardi or both? What do you eat preworkout, if anything? When do you go to sleep at night?

Thanks for help URep, Ill just post everything and maybe you can guide me with Cuts.
Im 212, 12-13%. My RMR daily caloric intake is 3000, so Im doing a deficit of 500 cals, so Im eating 2500. Here is what I eat each day:
8am wakeup EAA stack while cooking breakfast
830am Meal 1: 8 egg white, 1 whole, .75 cups oats, Pak
12pm Meal 2: 6 egg whites, 3 whole eggs, 1 tsp olive oil, fish oil
3pm Meal 3: 7 oz chicken, 200g brown rice
4pm WORKOUT, Storm intra
around 5pm post workout shake- 30g whey with 30g maltodextrin, 5g glutamine
6pm Meal 4: 8 oz chicken, 100g brown rice, 1 cup broccoli
9pm Meal 5: 8 oz tuna, 1 oz walnuts, fish oil
1130pm Meal 6: 5 egg whites, 1 scoop casein
Totals are 300 protein, 65 fat, and 175 carb
Im using all of my carbs first thing in the morning and around my workouts, in the down time is when I take in my protein/fat meals
Training is at 4pm, where meal 3 is my pre workout meal about an hour before. Im training a 5 day split with low intensity cardio on one "off day" and HIIT the other "off day". No cardio on training days (yet), I basically just use the cardio on the off day to get to my caloric deficit. Here is the split...
Sun: Shoulders
Mon: Legs
Tues: 45 min low intensity cardio
Wed: Chest and calves
Thurs: Back
Fri: Arms
Sat: HIIT (about 10-12 cycles working up to 90% max heart rate)
Everything has been running really smoothly, and I am enjoying the diet. I incorporate re feeds as I feel necessary (usually 6-10 days) but once I am under 10% I will be utilizing more re feeds (carbs are good!!! haha)
Alright so I think thats everything, as you can see I try to keep the supplements simple (whey, casein, egg protein, Pak, fish oil, glutamine, Storm, and EAA stack, and now Cuts). I think with a solid diet, even a cutting diet, some people get a little crazy with the supps.

Looks good man. Your timing seems OK with Cuts. Yeah, you can sip on EAA stack while making your breakfast, that'll be fine.
As far as cardio, you may want to increase it a bit. Cardio is best done on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. Second best would be directly after training. I would start implementing cardio a bit more during the week. However, if you're losing body fat doing it this way, then just take it one step at a time. Once you hit a wall, add more cardio.

Thanks bud. I had a good idea of timing with the Cuts, but could always use other's input. With the cardio, I have to disagree with you 100% (sorry haha). I never do it on an empty stomach or carb depleted, its really counter productive. Not trying to be an ass cause I appreciate your input, but I got my diet and training down pretty solid- could always use tweaking, but right now it's working.

No doubt, Fury. During my show prep, I did it first thing in the morning and immediately post workout, and it worked for me. If what you do works for you, then by all means, stick to it. Get it done bro!

Like Aggression said, you gotta do what works for you. Im in the same boat as him, as are many others. Cardio on an empty stomach so your not burning any excess while doing it .. but like he said, your call.
As far as the Cuts i used to take my 530 am as soon as i woke up, did cardio, came home and ate, and then usually around noon had my second pack of Cuts. This was not pre workout, i did not workout until 7pm. But this is simply what worked best for me.

Cuts pack #1: 8AM. Down it with ur EAA Stack. Juicy Watermelon, I trust??? If you don't like all the pills, take ur Animal Pak with your 12PM whole food meal.
Cuts pack #2: 3:15-3:30PM

Thanks TTL, yeah Ive been working with this diet and training regiment for about 7 weeks and its working great, so Im hesistant to change it, until I stall on a plateau. Thanks for the advice though man, yeah I guess it doesnt neccessarily have to be pre workout. Thanks man.
Thanks URep, thats exactly what I was thinking I was going to do, just wanted to make sure the meals wouldnt have too much of an effect on the ingredients.
Oh and of course Juicy Watermelon. Damn that stuff is TASTY!!!

So how's it goin' brother?
So how's it goin' brother?
Hate (AND I MEAN HATE!) to say it but not well. I was on it for about 4 days and had to stop. For reasons Im still trying to figure out, Cuts bloated me and sucked the energy right out of me. First I thought it was in my head, but after only 4 days, my waist was up from 31.5 to just under 33 (measure at the same time- first thing in the morning) Cuts was the only variable to the diet that was added so Im thinking my body just didnt like something in there. Im going to research each ingredient when I have time and compare with my diet and other supps.
I was pumped to start using but ya know, some supplements just dont work for certain people. Eh it is what it is. Still sticking by Animal/Universal, this is the first time something wasnt great.
Fury, I have had the same issue.. I took the old cuts with no problems and pretty much got down to 4% bf.. now with the new can, I take one pak upon waking and feel terrible 1 hour later, I tried it without the bill and red pill but still feel off colour.. my diet is in check and training is quite possibly better than ever.. any idea guys why the cuts is making me sick? I removed red and blue pills, maybe its one of the other pills?

Your water intake may be the problem. How much are you drinking on a daily basis?

Gallon and a half. Nothing less.

Thats a legit amount, so I guess that's not the problem. Hmm .. hard to identify the problem, b/c I've never heard of Cuts bloating someone.

Yeah man, Im with you- I have no idea what the problem was. I take my diet VERY seriously, not only for bb, but also health purposes, so I know its not the diet directly, but possibly one/several ingredients in Cuts interfering with the diets food/quantity/timing. Who knows? Its frustrating because I heard great things. Eh, looks like I just have to up the time on the old treadmill haha.
