Just in case your interested B3/502 was my first home at Ft Campbell when I was an 11B back in the mid-1980's, thats the 101st Airborne if you dont know and they're some of the best guys you would ever want watching your back!
My real name is Darin and I have three main goals for this year, one of which is a fitness goal. I am a personal development nutter and proud of it. These are my fitness goals.
My weight was 227lbs this morning and by the end of 2010 I will be back down to 175lbs. My waist is 42 inches today and it will be 32 inches by the end of 2010.
I will compete in at least 4 powerlifting competitions before the end of 2010.
I will track my progress on this site in my Journey section in words and in video.
I will bench 305lbs before the end of 2010.
Its funny how easily you fall out of shape and dont even realize it. I used to work out all the time but I let a desk job and life get control of me and that was my mistake. Time to take my life back!
I am highly motivated because I feel like a pig. I can actually feel my "real" body inside all this fat. For the next 2 weeks I will eat:
1- 2 Hard Boiled Eggs
2- 1/2 Chicken Breast
3- 2 Hard Boiled Eggs
4- Can 'O Tuna with lettuce
5- Chicken Breast with Veggies
6- 2 Hard Boiled Eggs
As for lifting.... Um..... my buddy Rob is in charge of that. You know him as ghost. Just look at his journal and I lift the same...... but a LOT LESS! hahaha

My arms hurt. My shoulders hurt. My back hurts. My legs hurt. My abs hurt..... I havent felt this good in years! Hoooaaah!
Anybody else close to me who needs a ride to any of these I am going to, I'll drive. I am not sure which ones I qualify for aside from the open ones.
I think I will go to the Ironhouse Open regardless of if I enter or not, just to motivate myself, but that is most likely to be my first one this year. Now, where is St Johns......

Diet went perfect and I only had a few short lived cravings. I have two questions though. I have much more energy on a high protein diet but I find it hard to go to sleep on it. Does this last long? And can you get a withdrawal headache from not eating carbs?

Looks like I have my first 2 Powerlifting events locked down. The first is just a deadlift/benchpress competition but still, they're pretty fun.

It will be nice to have some official numbers for my lifts so I have a good history. I've been to meets before where I was benching 270 at 148 at home, and then at the meet only being able to do 245. I dont know why that was but for some reason only the 245 felt real. I've no desire to go pro or anything but I like to compete.
Rob was on his own today. I pussed out from back pain. Did some shoulders, deadlifted some and learned I like sumo style. On a happy note I am waiting for my Animal Pak supplements to arrive and I am allready on creatine and glutamine. Also did 30 min treadmill and then 30 minutes on the eliptical. I really need more cardio before I show back up for Judo.... maybe next week depending on my back.
I didn't realize what a whiner I am until now...... haha
Rob kicked my ass with arms today. My back is healing fine after gawd knows what I did to it deadlifting.... and I got my Animal Pak's today. Thats a lot of pills. 30min treadmill at 3.8 and then 30min eliptical keeping my heart rate in the high 130's and low 140's the entire time.
Did chest and shoulders today and then did tread mill 3.5 speed for 30 minutes and eliptical with my heart rate staying between 145 and 155. I put in some extra effort since tomorrow is squats. I used to do near 500 at 148 and now I just hope I can do more than I weigh which is 225.
Still holding to the low carb/ high protein diet and eating every three hours. I am falling to sleep easier now too, thank Gawd.

2 sets of 40 with a 45lb plate
Box Squats-
9 sets of 10 reps at 135lbs
1 rep 225 with some help (WTF, I can bench more than I can squat?)
Leg curls-
Single leg of 10 reps and 2 sets with help at 35lbs
double leg of 10 reps with 2 sets (cheated)
Then
Single leg 25lbs 2 sets both legs I think
Skipped cardio since at the end of this walking was a problem and I think I was in pre-stroke territory.

Thanks and I love my carbs too. My one week weigh in is tomorrow and last Saturday I was 227lbs, so we will see what a week of low carbs do for ya!

Huh... 4 pounds closer to my goal..... I've been lifting for 3 weeks I think and I am starting to see a difference. Not so much in my belly, bitch hips or butt (secretary spread), but in my arms and shoulders. I cant wait until I start looking like me again.
My shoulders really hurt and I expect my legs to start hurting tonight and into tomorrow. Had a problem choking down the Animal Pak horse pills this morning so I chewed them and surprisingly they weren't disgusting. From now on they are considered chewable.

Been sick the past two weeks but kept up the diet and lifted just a little so I didn't lose my gains, plus I started running on Thursday and again on Friday and let me tell you that on Friday I bought a brand new pair of running shoes and the run felt ten times better than the day before with my old raggity ones on!

I was wearing 42 inch waist and bought my first pair of 44 inch waist jeans when I first started this program with Rob (ghost) and now I realized I was wearing my 40 inch waist jeans again. Big victory on my part. I just got rid of my 42 inch and 44 incher too. I am NOT going back to them. My closet now has 40, 38, 36, 34, 32 and 30 jeans. I think I will keep getting rid of the jeans I dont want to wear anymore.
I need to re-order my Animal Pak stuff. Running low.

I didn't lose anything today but Thursday I benched 275 so I dont feel too bad. I did 3 miles a day m-f so next week is 4 miles a day m-f. I might do that for 2 weeks and then jump into 5 miles a day. I love to run but its so much easier to run when you dont have an extra 50lbs of fat schloshing and jiggling all over you. Seriously, when your fit your whole life and you accidentally get fat for whatever reason, you can feel the "real" you on the inside of all the fat. Its gross.
My 40 inch waist jeans are beginning to sag a bit too. I just brushed of my 38's to get them ready to wear. Life is good!
Started my 4 mile/day today:
Mile 1...... Brrrr and ow..... my right foot was numb and right knee hurt.... ran slow...hard to think...... Mile 2.... feeling got back in my foot.... knee stopped hurting.... started to warm up...still cant think too good...... Mile 3.... Hey, nice..... feels good..... starting to think and realized my headphones suck and I need new ones.. Mile 4.... Maybe I should run 5.... no, no stick to the plan.... just 4 miles a day this week..... thinking real good now and planning my week! Hooah!

Overtrained and hurt my knees. I need to cut back on the running until I am closer to 200lbs. I didn't lose any weight this week but I feel alot stronger. Deadlifts might have hurt my knees but my back strength has increased and I caught myself sitting up straight in my work chair. Thats quite an accomplishment for me! LOL
thank God the tampon is coming out a little bit more. haha. get better so we can get back on schedule.
I'm going to follow Robs advice and stop weighing myself everyday. My body shape is changing for the good and I want to get strong so I think I will just concentrate on lifting and improving my diet. I'll cut later. For now I will just relax, enjoy the process and call this my bulking cycle.
Deadlifted today and couldn't pull 345lbs off the ground. I cant wait to re-read this thread a year from now.
Also: I was reading a thread about people complaining about having to eat alot in order to grow big. WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE! Man, I can eat 3,500 calories a day and still want more.
EDIT: Seriously, I just ate nearly 32 ounces of a yogurt, fruit and granola mix about a half hour ago. Just now I finished cooking up my rice and couldn't resist eating a few spoonfulls and couldn't walk back to my computer without cutting off a hunk of cheese!
Day 1 of Animalpak Flex and Universal Natural Sterol Complex. Been on the Original Animalpak for a month now. I am beginning to obsess on my diet. This is a good thing.
EDIT: Also been on Universal Storm for a couple months.

Made some huge gains. Military press went from 95lbs in January to 205 on Monday. I havent really lost any weight but who cares. I feel pretty strong these days. Now I just need to get my bench up past 300lbs.
I am getting better at my diet and I stopped drinking coffee. I am just not in the mood for it after taking my morning AnimalPak, Universal supps and hard boiled eggs. Coffee just looks and feels like poison.

Met an 85 year old man with better biceps..... better everything than me. Dude is a bodybuilder from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back I guess. Very inspirational. I've taken up mountain biking and it looks like it is going to stick. Anybody wanna ride Stoney creek?
