He is a close friend of mine and he's a determined person but doesn't understand shit. If someone could find/give me an article describing the beginning blocks of weightlifting, I would greatly appreciate it!

Mark Rippetoe's training is great for beginners. It really stresses the basics. His website has articles, videos, and workout plans to help your buddy out.

Rippetoe's workouts are great for starting out plus like smoothballer mentioned everything is right there in explaination.

this is a good question, and there are people to help. but you wont get your answer from this thread alone. you need to put a lot of time, effort and most of all research in for yourself.
