View Full Version : Grape Nuts?
Hey guys. I was doing some changes with my diet today and was thinking of adding grape nuts as a source of carbs to my diet. (preferably in the morning with breakfast or when I am in a bit of a hurry) But I was curious to know if they are a quality carbohydrate.
As much as I love my oats and rice, I need a bit of variety from time to time.
Any input would be most appreciated.. Thanks!

I would see no problem with that for the sake of variety... I like adding a whole grain cold cereal every so often just to mix shit up. Peace, G
Probably a decent choice outside of oatmeal. While oats are my morning staple, I do enjoy regular cereal once in a while. A favorite of mine is Food for Life's Ezekiel line. The cinnamon raisin is great, and so is the regular. Matter of fact, the regular tastes a lot like grape nuts.
seems like it could work I agree plain oatmeal can get boring grape nuts might spice it up for a while

I dig the Grape Nuts and go thru about two boxes per week. I usually eat a bowl with my breakfast meal and have another bowl (warmed) just before nighty night.
Thank you for all of the replies. It is much appreciated coming from you guys.
Grape Nuts...good stuff, I eat them with my protein shakes, also try mixing your egg whites and grits together in a bow, and throw a piece of fat-free cheese in the mix...Another good one is a low-fat granola mixed with protein powder and water in a bowl!

It's not a bad choice for cold cereals, but try to incorporate some sweet potatos for a different carb source they are good hot our cold.
I've been wanting to try that grape nuts trail mix cereal, anybody have any luck w/it?

just use animal supps for about 16 years and many wonders begin to happen.
i think the fairy would rather buy my food and such than have to go pick up my supplements. plus, having a 7 and 10 y/o son doesn't hurt either. cereal fairy also carried in some capn crunch, coca pebbles and some light and fluffy special k to snack on when she visits.

btw, the new g/n trail rocks, but just for b-fast so far. it's gonna be hard to move warm g/n out of the way pre nighty night.

thanks for the update Uno...I think I have few years then before the fairy will come to my house, but hopefully not too long...(I'll just keep the animal supp use going)
Check out Kellogs Bran Buds too. I add a 1/2 cup of cultured non-fat yogurt to aid digestion.
1/3 cup of the buds is 12 g of both wheat bran and psyllium fiber. very good stuff
