For us, these 2 should be one. But I'm taking a time out to see how lifting has helped me. When I started out lifting seriously, like, about 4 years ago, I had a busted leg and had just come out of high school. It was an uncertain time, and I didn't know where I'd end up. Had applied to several colleges, and was almost getting a scholarship, but diplomatic issues fucked it all up (how freaking weak is that??) and I ended up going nowhere.
It's taken some time, but I've absorbed the learnings, made the iron my companion, my punching ball, and my inspiration. Now, I am almost finishing premed, and though life still fucks up with its unexpected shit, I have to approach it with intensity and to not let it define me. This approach tends to leave you isolated, with people wondering what the fuck are you about, but I've restarted building it all again, brick by painful brick just like Machine has said, and not bothering whether people are watching or not, and this time, I have the unforgiving, yet most trustworthy friend ever, Iron.

respect man. Any normal person would read that and judge that as some meathead bullshit. However animals know the significance of your words. Keep working hard

not only would a normal person have a clue what the fuck is being said. he'd prolly go into one of those "why do you only eat, sleep and lift?" and begin to call numerous names such as juicer or like darkside was saying the typical 'meathead'. fuck that. WE as animals understand those words. keep it up

and a damn good post brother

Good post. Not to rain on your parade, but lifting is PART of life. They are not one in the same. If you put lifting FIRST, you will end up lonely and feeling very unfofilled. When your life is in order, your lifting will follow behind you. Lifting is important to me. But nothing comes before family.

agreed with the above. I have walked both of those roads. It is much better and will make you better with your family behind you
