so my buddy was telling me bout the 1000 pushup challenge and it sounded interesting. it says 200 pushups a day for the first week with 2-3 ddays inbetween then 200 in an hour once a day. then 200 in the morning 200 in the afternoon. then eventually 300 morning 300afternoon in a one hour time period then 1000 in 80 mins. i am looking to build alot of size but also some strength and tone. but if i have chest day tuesday, could i do the pushups on saturday? so i have 3 days rest inbetween chest day and pushups? would this affect my mass negatively? or would it not allow my muscles to totally heal? also should day is friday so how would that affect my shoulders mass/strength?

i put this in another thread but i do 200-300 pushups every morning & hit the gym at night. just start slow to let your body get used to the change. i can feel & see a difference & it definately helped lean me out.

shit i know people who do the hershal walker/roy jones jr/bruce lee workout. 1000 pushups & pullups & 2500 situps everyday & there big & strong as hell. just start slow & you should be good to go.

I've never known pushups to build size unless they're weighted. Think about it-if you did curls with 20lbs dumbells for even 500-1000 reps a day, would you have huge guns? Probably not, more like burnt out biceps. The only reason I could see for doing 1000 pushups a day is if you're in teh military or martial arts, both of which require lots of pushups and I'm sure having the ability to do 1000 would help alot when you're required to do tons of them in an already fatigued state.

Agreed i dont think 1000 pushups in one day will aid in MUCH muscle mass. Im sure it will aid in some, but i think it will just help you get shredded.

Eat Big, Lift Big = Grow Big.

What about 1000 curls or 1000 squats? Is 1000 the best rep range to trigger muscle growth?

it sounds fucking stupid....there.

training isnt complicated, pick a simple, basic template, have a diet that revolves around your goals and get good rest.

if you wanna get bigger, eat alot of good foods, high protien.

train in the 8-12 rep range and focus on compound exercises and throw in abit of
isolation exercises.
