There is many people who can only make it to the gym 3x a week. You dont grow while your in the gym, hit it hard as you can and rest as much as possible. So the answer is yes, you CAN make gains.

Absolutely - I trained only 3x per week for years during high school and managed to make consistent gains. Just don't make the mistake of trying to make up for it by spending 3 hours there - get in, destroy yourself thoroughly, get out and rest. Enjoy -

It is if you make it so that you NEED to rest all those days.

I would echo what IronWilson is saying here.

Also bear in mind that none of the most successful people in this sport only train 3 days a week.

To be a good bodybuilder I believe you have to commit to this as a lifestyle. In the 168 hours you live your life each week, we'll say about 110 waking hours, imagine how hard you would have to work in order for 3 measly total hours of training each week to force any kind of dramatic adaptation?

i used to train 6 days a week, then only 5. now i train 4 days a week and im growing bigger and stronger faster then anyother time of my life. 3 days could prove even better.

I train 3 days one week and two days the next week. With proper intensity applied, it works for me.

Yeah, it's all about progression and intensity.

I personally love 3 day a week programs, if done right. You need to apply the proper intensity and progression to those 3 sessions and you should be solid.

I used to have a 5 day program. Working basically individual muscles and not groups. Now i'm on a 4 day program and am much stronger than any time period during the 5 day. Biggest difference is in the intensity.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I'm gonna hop on a Push/Pull/Shoulders/Legs 4 day program. 5x a week was burning me out
