Alright the neck has been doing this "pinched nerve" feeling for a while now. But for some reason it never bothered me lifting weights. Today I went to do upright rows (with light weight mind you) and I felt such a sharp pain I had to move onto a different exercise. This bothered me before in squats too but that has dissapeared. I also notice that whenever I do shrugs I get the same feeling, not when I do back or lats though which is weird. I'm almost certain it's in my traps and that's the problem. I've gone to the doctor and he says it's not a pinched nerve and completely blew it off as if I was lying to his face. The pain is directly to the left of the huge bone that sticks out at the base of the neck.

Next is this new lower back pain. Lately I've been having this pain in my Coccyx (tailbone). It's on the furthest left of the bone that feels a dull pain. I'm wondering if it's been caused from squatting or deadlifting. The pain has been kinda spiratic; where I won't feel it for hours then I'll move a certain way and I'll feel it. Is this a common injury for someone and has anyone else had the same problem(s)?

Almost the same thing with my neck. I notice that it sometimes appears when I do heavy incline presses. I don't know what affects this. The angle of the seat is about 45 deg. Since I have had those problems a lot in the past, I went to see a doctor. Basically, they prescribed me a muscle relaxant or some kind of painkiller. They don't understand/see/diagnose the problem, just relieve the pain temporarily.

I see. I don't know what they can do about pinched nerves besides relieve the pain temporarily. I mean, I think I could have tendonitis in my neck too. My doctor blew it off like it was nothing. Fucking doctors really don't care.

A thing that helps my neck alot is if I keep it planted on the head rest of the bench. If I lift my head up I get that pain too.

I have a similar neck pain, but mine spreads all the way up to the base of the skull. Whenever this occurs I have to tilt my head all the way back (looking at the ceiling) and then slowly relax from there. I found that if I move my head even a little during a lift (especially on bench) - such as looking at the side to rack the weight, this can occur. For me it seems that it gets strained as somehow tension get applied to my neck. What has helped me was being aware to keep my head completely still during movements (strengthening the neck didn't really help from what I can tell), and sleeping in a more aligned position (keeping spine straight). I'm not sure if its the same thing for you however.

If you have problems resolving the issue, try to see a physical therapist. General family doctors can't focus so much on every issue. How I see it is:

Doctor - treats with medicine (typically deals with general health issues. NB: something like 70% of their patient visits are for cold/seasonal viruses - don't quote me on the number, but I know its a great majority)
Physical/physiotherapists - muscular work (stretching and strengthening)
Chiropractor - spinal/bone augmentation

Unfortunately I don't have any advice for your coccyx, hopefully someone else can help.

Thanks for the input. I definetly notice that keeping my spine and neck straight on lifts is important to not feel pain. But I can't even do upright rows with the most perfect of form.

Only my neck then he blew it off like it was nothing. Didn't ask about my lower back because it wasn't occuring then when I went.

I've felt the "pain in the neck" that you are referring to. What it is, to my understanding, is that you are pinching the nerve. I use to feel it during shrugs and quickly found that correcting my form fixed the pain. When you do shrugs, keep your head upright and stare across the room. If you look down to far or up to far then you can pinch that nerve in your trap which is quite unpleasant.

Go see a physical therapist and get some work done on your neck. Or you can go to a massage specialist and get a nice deep tissue massage and see if that loosens anything up.

ive had something similar like that from sqauts on my back.go see a physiotherapist and they can give you some streching exersises.also keep training. dont sit at home and do nothing for when you are recovering but dont cause further damage to it while you are in the gym.
the streching exercises help heal it especialy if theres something wrong with the disk it will help heall the disk by putting it back into its place.
it will go away after a few weeks or even a few months trust me.
