Today starts 18 weeks until I hit the Best of the Midwest in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It's a fairly small show but there seems to always be at least 1 guy that brings a good package as far as mass goes

Rage is helping me with my show prep and I'm very anxious to finally get into a cut.
I'm starting at 193lbs @ 5-6". I'll be posting up a few before shots and my BF% later this week.

haha it was pretty funny. I was so focused on the squat and depth it took me a second to figure out what the hell that noice was. Then I had to try and get to the truck with my orange underware hanging out the back of the camo shorts.

Another rough leg day. Those fronts coupled with the single legs then off to the leg ext really burn in the quads all day long.

Awesome work Rod, 5k would kill me. hahaha yeah I guess they don't feel the extra mass helps them.


Everything is looking on track, how you feelin?

Feeling good brother. The cardio is getting easier by the day and the fat seems to be coming off well. Diet is on point and I really like the consistency of knowing what I'm eating all day without thinking about it. I cook everything either the night before or in the morning for the day and the rest is easy.

Toughest thing so far is just dealing with being smaller but once I start seeing detail in the muscles I'm sure that will go away also.

Did the cardio today on the eliptical. I don't really like it because it seems like it makes my feet fall asleep. Could be compression on my spine or the wierd movement, I don't know but I think I'll go back to the treadmill tomorrow.

Early on I just put the Punk on ignore but lately I am getting pissed and starting to react, if he keeps it up I dont know if I can keep from going off on him. Hey jeremy do you do the new beef tabs?
I used to do Liver tabs and had to chew them ( nasty I know) since they did not digest well. Now I have ordered the beef and wanted to know if you used them and liked them and if you swallolled them or chewed them?

I have not yet dived into the beef tabs but I would imagine they are hosre pills just like the liver tabs. I'd like to give them a shot and see how they work. If you get some let me know how you feel they work.

Here's what I take in on a daily basis. My only deviation at this point is on Saturdays where I get a cheat meal. First couple of weeks I went with greasy burgers and fries but the longer I'm on this diet the cleaner I eat, even for the cheat meal. Only thing I really go nuts on is a PB cup blizzard after wards.

Because Tom keeps adding chicken and I'm running out of places to put it. hahaha

In all reality, this actually works well for me. I'm in the gym at 5:30 and finish each workout with my cardio, so I burn through those first 2 chicken and rice meals pretty fast. Then the afternoon tends to drag at work and the larger meal gets me through until I can get home.

I could probably make it into another meal but the work schedule makes it very tough to get it all in.

1 Animal Pak post workout
1 Pak Omega, 1 Pak Flex 20 min before bed

Non workout days on empty stomach before cardio & sometimes Intra Workout
1 scoop Universal BCAA
2 Scoops Universal EAA
1 Scoop Glutamine
1 Scoop Creatine

If I had some extra dough I'd also throw in some pump pre but the nox3 is just as god in my opinion.

Tonight was a real f'd up front squat situation. I tried to use the straps and I don't know WTF was going on but my left tri from just under my delt to my forearm was numb and tingling. I droped down to 155 and did it the ole fashion way and knocked out a couple good 15 rep sets.

You guys might see that I'm not going too heavy on some stuff. I feel like if I go a little lighter but squeeze the reps and control the weight, I get a better work out.

Heavy is cool in the off season but 9 weeks out I gotta be smart and make every rep count.

What's up Rod??? Yeah I've been posing after each workout for atleast 5 minutes going through the mandatories. I'll be increasing the posing time from here on out to really nail the poses. Let me know when you'll be around, things are really hectic but we'll get together soon.

Thanks Brother. The prep isn't too bad it's just very hard to work 8 hrs a day, 90 min of cardio a day, 60-90 min gym time 4 days a week, and also have time for my family. It's getting very tough and probably will only get worse. hahaha

Hey Deads, thanks for dropping in on me. I haven't been able to stay in touch with everyone but I'll try and get on and get back in the loop soon.

7 weeks away from the show and I'm feeling pretty good, just very busy. My abs are not coming in and I need to step up the cardio. Tom has me at 2 hrs a day now and I hope that does the trick. I've never been down this low in BF before so I think my body is fightin me on it.haha Well remedy that very soon.

I feel weak on the weights but it doesn't really matter as loon as I get in there and get a good work out in each time.

I'll catch up with you guys soon.

Thanks Rod. Those weekend sessions really help with you pushing memore than I normally would. Last Sat afternoon I picked up the baby and my chest cramped from the stuff we were doing..... I'll be back at it again this weekend if you can make it.

Just a quick Prep update. I'm up to around 500g of chicken a day and carbs are down to 75g. Cardio is split into 2 1hr sessions.

I've changed up the food prep to boiled chicken and steamed rice, I try and get in a couple talipia filets at night and breakfast is always an 8 oz sirloin.

I sitting @ 165 which is down 30...yep 30 lbs since June 1st. I'm probably loosing some muscle but I still look fairly good, just need to tighten up.

I'll get some sun on me and post a couple of pics to let everyone know where I'm at. Show is 6 weeks from this saturday.

My posting in the Journey has been pretty spotty because the last few weeks just all blend together.

I'm at 2 hrs of cardio a day, 1 hr at night and 1 hr in the morning. Sometimes it happens according to plan and sometimes it doesnt. I have an 11 month old and work a full time job and sometimes 4 hrs of sleep or less doesn't allow for optimal training and sometimes my sleep(RECOVERY) is more important than another hour on the road.

If in the next 4 weeks I don't come into the show as I want I only have myself to blame but sometimes that's the way it goes. I'm sure that I'll be just fine but I won't say that it's easy and I'm not doing my best.

To address everyone that drops in, thanks for your support over the past 20 weeks. I feel I could have done more to come in leaner but I'll work with what I have and work my poses for all I can to make up what I lack in other areas.

I'm excited to get on stage and finish this out and get onto the next off season. Not for the food or any of that but I think I can get bigger and make many more improvements for the next show.

If I don't get back over here before the show I'll try and have someone get some pics up on here for me. I leave for a week in Atlantic City for work on the 17th and don't know if I'll have time to post pics or not....sorry for the suspense...hahaha
