I feel like a newbie by asking this, but could someone explain to me what a bench suit is and how it helps your lifts? I have also heard about equipment for deads and squats other then a belt to aid in the lifts.

Hey man, pretty much a bench shirt helps you getting the weight off your chest. You want it to be very tight to get the most benefit out of the shirt.
And yes they have deadlift suits and squat suits that help their respective lifts.

Here is a decent site that will give you an idea of what all is out there...

But as Dunk said the shirt definately helps you at the bottom of the lift.

Titan has great squat suits and bench shirts, and Inzer makes good bench shirts and PL belts. I also get my wrist and knee wraps from Titan.

ok i dont think im seeing the point of a bench shirt. i mean obviously it helps you do more weight than you normally could in a competition, but as far as training, is there any additional work being done by your chest due to the added weight, even with the aid of the shirt, or was it basically designed to help people do better in a contest?

You train with your shirt every chest day. I don't train in mine unless im getting ready for a meet. I might put it on every week when I'm about 4 weeks out, but 80% of my workout is without it on. And yes it will help you press more weight off you chest, IF you know how to use it correctly. It took me about 4 months to learn the grove of my shirt and I still don't have it done 100%

I have some video of me using my shirt in the powertrip section as BENCH VID, there are two. I still need more weight to get the bar to touch but maybe the vids will give you a better idea about shirts.
Also Inzer is definitely the way to go , they have a wide variety of shirts for the beginner to the Pro....and I have to push my sponsors...lol

"I have to push my sponsors" that made me laugh. Inzer makes some sweet gear but I'm a titan guy myself powerfreak. Don't hold it against me though, i compete in USAPL and the gear is single ply only. I am in the process of getting a katana becase I think its the best single ply shirt out there, you got any other suggestions?
