Well classes start for me today. Just wanted to wish all the college Animals out there the best of luck this semester. Get your meals in and train balls to the walls no matter what happens. Stay organized so you dont have to miss training sessions to cram all night for these tests. Peace

Haha no shit bro, started the 20th and I fucking hate the disorder of it all right now, it's fucking rediculous. I'm doin better though, I'm going to figure out all this shit and get everything in line....kind of wish I wasn't taking so many supplements right now though hahaha makes it kinda complicated. Oh well, the things we do. :)

Yea I start today, I'm working out inbetween classes. The hardest thing is gonna be eating, cuz they don't have refridgerators just out for use, so I'm gonna have to make friend with someone in a dorm so I can use their fridge and microwave lol

Damn it... is it that time of year again? The time where I become a BIGGER social outcast?... The 5 AM wake ups so I can hit the gym before my 8:30 classes? That time where all of my friends say I am retarded or insane?

I say bring it on... the bigger the challenge, the bigger the reward...

Yeah, I start september 24th, I have trimesters.

No one gets it. I sleep, eat, train, and study. Thats it.

Why don't you party? Because I don't want bitch tits.

My girl is living about an hour from me now, used to be 5 hours, now at least I have an excuse to leave on the weekends to get out of the drunk mess that college is.

Not a sip since new years baby...

Classes start at 4, so I should be getting 10 hours of growing time a night, no EXCUSES!

I just started my classes today. Luckily I decided to take a weight lifting class for my Phys Ed credit. The guy who teaches it is pretty cool, so those of us that know how to lift and have a routine get to do what we want. So I now have two lift days a week built into my classes. Its great.

I'm with you bro. I just had my first classes today as well. Anthropology at 8 am. Shit sucked. I fell asleep about half-an-hour in, and was told to wake up or get out, so I left and headed for the dean's office and dropped it. Picked up my first PolySci class in its place. Hoping for better results needless to say.

Something I am looking forward to is getting back to the gym. I have been out of commission for about 1 and 1/2 months and I am itching to get back. And I will start with arms today, and its gonna kick some ass.

I am living in an apartment this year, so shit will be so much easier, in many areas. First, my roomates and I are all seperated by walls, which makes it easier to sleep. Needless to say, it will be MUCH easier to cook (healthy) meals and add some serious mass.

Good Luck to everyone as they start school. Have fun, but be safe, and of course, train hard.

good luck to all of you. its tough juggling training, diet, classes but in the end it is all worth it. just remember that you are in school to get an education and that the books come first, training second. its a hard mindset to get into since all summer its been nothing but train. the juggling all of the activites will better prepare you for anything that life will throw at you.

I don't go back until next monday, but I cant wait. All my other boys are back at school and I have no spotters left. No meal plan for me this year, I am making all of my meals, which means twice as healthy and twice the portions, at least. Train hard everyone, and don't skip legs day too many college kids do as it is.

I like it when people look at me while I'm carrying around a shaker bottle... I'm at my truck with a cooler eating all the time.. Sometimes if I can't get to my truck to eat I bring my cooler with me...

Plus I'm older than most people at my college too so that doesn't help :) They just ask where I train

My schedule was rearranged for some classes, and has got me changing my whole workout routine
Now I jump into the gym 2-3x a day, I have never done this before
Jump on in for like 30 minutes each time, but I go balls out, rack up the weights, keep cranking sets, and get a fast sweat on
Already got some stares of WTF!?! from some unfamiliar people there
Food sucks here (again for a 4th year in a row), but I always find somewhere on occassion outside the college to enjoy some actual-hearty-nutritious food

Good luck to everyone here
If one don't do well with any course, he/she vent off in the gym and push more weight
It may not help progress in the class, but it will make you feel a whole lot better

Man, I started classes yesterday. I also started my new diet yesterday. It was one LONG day to say the least. I had to do a million things before my classes started, and then had to work after classes. I just basically loaded the trunk with everything and ate out of the trunk when it was time to eat.

I had to excuse myself from sociology and run to the car to grab my two scoops of whey, fish oil, C tabs and cissus. No worries, the professor is about 95, I think the whole five minutes I was gone he might have said about 3 words. No lie. He actually fell asleep while giving a lecture.

i love how it is cool with the professors to eat in class. unlike HS where you get bitched at and sent to detention.

having a cafeteria is great too. i get to go down there at least once a day. usually after my workout and commit serious gluttony on whatever i can get my hands on.

So true man. As our coach used to say, "If you can't handle beating someone's ass day in and day out, I hear there are some guys running around throwing a ball through a hoop in the gym down the hall. Maybe that's more your thing?"

Wrestling and lifting hold something in common. At the end of the day it's you vs. your opponent, or you vs. the iron. If you couldn't cut it, that's all on you. You are the only one who can improve upon it. It's all about self improvement.

Hey guys I just had a question about how I can still get all the protein and carbs and such if I dorm at my college and the closest thing to a stove that we are allowed to have is a george foreman? I weigh about 160 and I'm trying to gain weight but its close to impossible while I'm here at school. I lift everyday and take my whey twice a day if that helps. Any suggestions on how I can get the rest of the nutrients I need?

I have gotten ready for my last two shows with a microwave, mini fridge and a george forman,....oh and my trusty blender!

i get my Flank Steak tenderized twice at the grocery store. the nice people there run it thru once more. I had to shop at a different time to catch them back there! That's super easy other than chicken tenderloins to cook on the forman...

I would have the shake in the am, and right before bed (extra whey lovin') and one post workout.

As for the meat, you can either shop and cook the night before if you have a mini fridge (hope your roomies dont mind) or you got that early morning cook-off happening. And, if i'm not mistaken, there are some other types of "george forman type" contraptions that will allow you to even cook scrambled eggs or omlettes in them....( I swear i saw an informercial like this just last week )

you're on the right track! Keep striving to be consistant!

i got the george foreman with removable plates so i can cook eggs or chicken any other way than the grill attachment. it's like a flat pan. i cook the steak and beef on the grill attachement and keep it all in the minifridge. i also have a rice cooker. all in my dorm.

go to the cafeteria if you can. you can pack it way there most likely. or steal food from there.

Bro there is a huge thread on this already - use the search function.

best way to eat big is to find good food at cheap prices or take advantage of what the school has to offer. In Phildelphia, I get all my food at the Reading Terminal Market on 12th Street - it's super cheap, and I eat BIG all day long.

Cheap and FRESH stuff there bro.

Philly has to be one of the easiest cities to bulk in. There is no excuse to not get your meals in no matter where you are.

In Maine? Well there are no more out door farmers markets this season. It snowed all day yesterday. It's hunting season so there is some fresh deer meat in the smaller markets. ( Don't knock it til you try it) And since northern Maine grows potatos like crazy, I can pick up a 5 pound bag of whites for a dollar.

Still rather be back in Philly for school.. Which is why my ass will be back in Penn State next year.

Recently I have been doing some research and alcohol really affects lifting. I have now devoted myself to stop drinking and these asshole rugby players give me so much shit for it.

Just needed to vent. I love lifting and nothing will stop me from achieving my goal. Drinking/smoking is a waste of life. Fuck assholes who bring you down.

Im ether studying all night or catch up on sleep which I get 4 hours on a GOOD night. IMO id rather recover sleep then train when my body has been up for 24+plus or only on 4 hours of sleep. I still get 1-2 session but I miss my balls to the wall sessions. How many of yall experience this? What you do to make it happen (training) wise?

i do, but my degree is not as demanding as yours, but for finals i have the same problem...

sometimes ya gotta miss a session for school, its more important, but try and get a 20-30 min workout in if ya can just go in there and get a few sets of a few exercises, its better than nothing and you can do it right before you sleep or whenever you can pull it off and if you can pack a wo in to 30 min your gonna be goin balls to the wall so youll get your fix.

I honestly don't know how I do it...everyone in my life thinks I am throwing away my college experience because I spend most of my time lifting, eating, and sleeping rather than socializing, drinking, and sleeping. Its hard for me to really connect with anyone at school to because most people I meet are only interested in where the next kegger is or what happened on last nights episode of the Hills. Giving up being a careless, alcoholic college student is one of the sacrifices that we make. For me, its an easy decision because I never liked that stuff anyway...

As far as just keeping up with training and eating while in school....well that is more difficult like you said. I live alone in my dorm room so that is a plus, and I keep an adjustable bench in there with a set of dumbells and I get some presses, flys, and curls done in there during those tight days like S.o.D said. Of course I hit up my schools gym for cardio and long and extended training sessions at least 3x per week. I keep packets of tuna and carl budding ham in my mini-fridge, a couple of jars of natty peanut butter and loaves of wheat bread around, tubs of Real Gains and Torrent in my closet, and now a couple of Big 88's next to my bed. I also eat in class...not tuna or anything extreme like that, but some protein bars/shakes, PB sandwiches, some almonds and cashews, etc. On top of that I hit up the schools caf. at least 4 times a day.

But this time of year, during finals and everything, you have to understand what is most important, and if you are in school, then its 100% without a doubt school. Taking some time to off to rest and get your school shit in order is better than stressing and trying to get everything done. For the next two weeks, I will probably train for a total of 6 hours simply because I will be studying my ass off. But three weeks from now, when I am done with school and am getting ready for some serious R&R, regular training sessions, some great grub, and being around my family, it will all be worth it.

Just keep your priorities in order, remember sleep/recovery comes before training, and you should be straight.

college is no problem. just wait til you get out of college, then you have marriage, kids, work, family stuff, kids activities, all that, AND you are supposed to fit in lifting....

I thought college was pretty easy. I got through it without problems in terms of studying and working out. I had good time management skills. Work is a whole different story. I leave for work at 730am and get home at 645, 5 days a week. Four of those days I'm hitting the gym around 730pm and getting home around 845-9pm. At this point, I have to shower up, and prep my meals for work the next day. It's fucking rough dude, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I don't know what the fuck I'm going to do once I get a wife/family.

Also MVP Im taking 15 hours this semester and prolly 17 next, not no 9 hours lol

I did anywhere from 14-18 credits/semester and didnt have any problems. Just balance out the work and workouts. Don't wait to study all in one night, don't put off any assignments til last minute. If you do those things, then you'll be fine. I was.
