I been in football for the past 9 years of my life. Being an offensive linemen with no real coaching/lifting program I have a bunch of body fat that I know longer need since my playing days are done. I weighed in at 320 this morning. I want to get down to 220 ultimately but will settle between 220-240. My training program is 4 days a week (chest/back/abs, shoulders/traps, bi/tri/abs, legs,) with about 30-45min of cardio afterward. On two other days in the week I do smaller things like forearms, calves, and additional cardio. I have a huge frame my max lifts have been huge but I'm not looking to be a bodybuilder or a powerlifter however I do want to be lean and strong. All I know on the diet end is to keep it simple, lean beef, chicken, a steak here and there. Lots of green vegetables some fruit, pound the water and whey protein. I'm on CUTS and PAK so that helps with energy and additional burn. But am I doing anything wrong? Should I be doing more? My goal is to enter the armed forces and I know those guys are freaks I got about a year or so until I ultimately decide so all this training is a build up process. My mile time is 3 miles in 20min and my pushups max at about 60 and situps at 100. I probably could enter sooner but I really want to excel. Any tips would be great. Some of the common questions I have are when to do cardio? How long should I do HIIT? My pace in the weight room has been moderate weight with high reps and low rest, I have lost about 13 pounds in 2 weeks so I think its working but any community input is greatly appreciated.
