went to the chiro today finally for my low back pain. he said my piriformis muscle is real tight and aggravated. dont really know the cause, all i know is it started around the time i tried to start foam rolling it. guess all i did was aggrevate it. he gave me some stretches and said i could lift with it, im just glad its not a spinal issue. my question is, does anyone have any experience with this, and could it be potentially harmful to continue lifting heavy with it aggravated? ive taken a week off, just wondering if anyone has anything similar or knows anything about it
If the chiro has said it's ok to start lifting on it then build up SLOWLY.
Most important thing I'll say to you is listen to your body. If it's feeling ok, keep going. If not, stop.
if you listen to your body, it'll tell you a whole lot more than a chiro or a doctor.

i agree to listen to my body. the most important thing is nothing is terribly wrong with it, its just tight and aggravated, giving me lower back pain. luckily, this was my scheduled deload week, so i took the week off...no real time off lifting...also had another chiro visit today and a deep tissue massage...i feel pretty good right now
