I gotta say, I have been doing this a long time. You would think that I would know better, you would think I would know how to manage my time and diet better than today. Today was my moderate chest and back day, and I was just going to have eggs for dinner about 45 minutes prior to lifting. However, my 4 year old wanted pizza and with my wife getting back late from work, we ate late. So here we are eating a very heavy, doughy pizza, then I take my stack 2 and run to the gym.

Let me say this, I dont normally eat pizza, especially chicken parm pizza, but I felt like absolute shit hitting the gym. Indigestion from the word go, every set was forcing up pieces of dinner. Needless to say the lift sucked, and now I gotta go into my off day tomorrow coming off a bad lift. Son of a bitch. Take it from me guys, remember the lessons you learned from the beginning

When I'm bulking, I honestly don't mind pizza or sandwiches or something before lifting. I'll eat a couple slices, 1 scoop of protein and go to town. Some of my best lifts have started with that. But once again, bodybuilding is a very personal sport. What works for one might not for another.

I feel you bro, I have to be very careful about what I eat and when I eat it. I don't feel very good if I eat within an hour of lifting, usually an hour and a half before is about perfect.

We're always learning lessons, just forgetting to put the results to use :-/

it sucks being bound to other things when we eat - schedule, money (as a college kid, my meals are paid for, but unhealthy), kids, etc. i feel you man.

about the only thing i won't eat before training is chili. i love the stuff, but running out of 'gas' certainly wasn't my major problem that day! nothin' like trying to lift heavy and worrying about the last meal running down your legs...it was a bad day...
