Hey guys,

I am heading to Vegas next week from Canada, just wondering if anyone can tell me what i can and cant bring across the border for supplements?

I was basically looking at bringing a tub of whey protein, a tub of creatine, beta alanine and Branch chain amino acids

Anyone have any experience on this to see what is and isnt permissable, i have tried google and searching the web but cant find a specific answer?

thanks for the help

How long in Vegas? Leave it all at home and hit the all you can eat buffets and go for the meat fish and veggies. Really make it ALL YOU CAN EAT. See some good shows, win some dough & hit a Gold's Gym if you need to for training or short term supps. Somewhere on the strip there's got to be some vitamin or health food place that might have stuff for you. Again, BUFFETS-MEAT FISH TURKEY/CHICKEN VEGGIES>

Hmmmm..........big tub of whitish powder coming across the border? May not let you through with that one bro.

Look up customs agents for Canada AND the US and they should tell you what is OK or you can call a travel agency and they will find out for you. Just have to act interested in their packages for a few minutes.

I'm sure a couple packs to cover you for the weekend is fine. But they'll probably question you if you're luggin' around a couple 10lb tubs along with 50+ packs, haha. Enough for a single person's weekend; fine. But as CC said, call the airline to be 100% sure.

Dont carry the tubs, use zip lock baggies and double bag all the powders. Just make sure you calculate how much you need. So if you do 2 shakes a day with 2 scoops each thats 4 scoops a day times how ever many days your gonna be there. Then scoop that many into the bag plus one or 2 extrx and seal both bags. Now you have your protein and its double bagged and you can leave that huge container at home.

I am flying, some guys have said pack the protein and aminos in baggies, and others have said leave them in the original containers and keep receipts for everything. I called the airlines but they didnt help me out too much, i am going to keep checking the web to see if i can find more info.

Hey bro,

I found this from the U.S. Customs & Border Protection site and may help you out: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/82.

This sentence alone should include protein powders..

"Powder drinks must be sealed in original containers with ingredients listed in English. However, admissibility is still under the discretion of the Agricultural Specialist".

I’d note though Beach, after nearly statement they use the wording “generally admissible” – meaning – they have the right to act otherwise if the agent sees fit, unfortunately.

There is also a Questions/Customer Service # you could try if you’d like: 1-877-CBP-5511. (found here: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/customer_service.xml)
