Is it just as sufficient to get carb intake from drinks as it is from food? If so what are the best ways to get lots of carbs into my diet?

Carbs from whole foods are better if you can get them in, but if you feel like you're struggling there's nothing wrong with utilising shakes or just adding dextrose to a drink.

Solid food is the best route, but in tight spots or in a quick fix a shake is a trick to getting extra calories in. I would first load up on rice, potatoes, pasta, beans....etc.

- freshly squeezed fruit juice with meals for added carbs
- blended oats in protein shakes
- fruit added to smoothies

Drinking more milk is a surefire way to add quality calories to your diet.

Rice is amazing for carbs especially on a budget:

-Cheap as dirt
-Anyone can make it
-All you need is a 5lb bag of rice, a pot(I use a plate for lid), few cups of water, and a stove/hot plate

Did I mention if you are always hungry it really fills you up well hehehe. Stuff definitely holds me over until the next meal of lean meat.
