"you HAVE to rest to grow"

if you dont give your muscle an opportunity to rest, you will NOT grow.

i have a set routine i like also.
day 1 is chest and triceps
day 2 is shoulders and traps
3 is byceps and forearms
4 is abs and back
5 is legs

but should i take two days rest after i complete that cycle or can i just go straigt through it again?

you have to take rest periods if you want to see proper gains. i mix my off days up every week. keeps my body guessing.

rest not only helps with muscle growth but also with the health of the CNS. too much strain on your body without rest can lead to injury or illness. so rest is also crucial to the overall general well being of your body which will help with muscle growth

1. Diet (This is your growth/fatloss KEY!- also the most important part)
2. Training and Rest (These both are equally important, resting at least 8 hours SHOULD be apart of your training program. You're not done just cuz you stepped outa that gym boy. Napping if you can't get 8 hours a night is acceptable and can be very helpful.)
3. Supps (once you have diet, training, and rest down - this will put the icing on the cake. It's the cherry on your banana split. NOTHING ELES. It will not be the defining line of your growth or fatloss WHATSOEVER! i dont care what kinda sales pitch someone gives you, if you ain't getting Diet, trainin, and getting those ZZZZZ's you waste'n you $$$$ bro)

Depending on how you use them and how efficently. These are the 3 keys to growth or fatloss IMO - i dont know if im forgetting anything, im still trying to wake up from leg day.

You must give each major muscle group 48-72 hours of rest to help repair, because when you lift it, you're just tearing your muscle, and when you rest that group you're body repairs that muscle to make it grow. if you keep lifting without adequate rest you're just tearing and tearing your muscle.

you can lift more than a few days in a row, just make sure you have a routine that allows that adequate rest you need.

swap day 2 with day 3....

your pushing muscles will get extra rest....( triceps have better recovery that way, as they are involved in all shoulder workouts).

It's WHAT makes you grow - NOT the lifting. Think of your muscle as a pie. What you wanna do is make a cut in that pie big enough. Then you can start throwing more goodies inside (the applies, or berries, or whatever you throw in there) and you wanna keep filling it until it kinda closes up (it's magical healing pie, ok? lol gimme a break); now when it DOES close up, it's gonna be a little bigger. After you've given it sufficient time to do so, you cut it again, which gives you the opportunity to throw some more goodies in there. If you sit there with the knife and just keep chopping away at it, what do you end up with? A shitty pie and a big fuckin mess. The knife is your workout - lifting does not build muscle, it actually BREAKS it down. The food is, well, actually the food in the analogy IS food. Your protein, carbs, aminos, etc. When the muscle is sufficiently broken down you start feeding the body the nutrients it needs to help repair the muscle and make it grow. So when you're resting, your body doesn't need to spend much energy on anything else (outside of the normal processes to survive) besides repairing your muscles, which is why people always promote adequate sleep and rest days.
