Hi,
I will tell you I love diet coke...and during my first show I would live off it, along with water...I started to take notice that whenever I drank alot of it...I would look softer in certain areas..so, in preparing for my second show..I completely went off it, going through some withdrawals at the same time, but my physique was harder than the first show. Now, I don't know if this was due to cutting out the diet soda or because my body just got in better shape. To play it safe, I only drink diet coke on the weekends as a treat.
This is just my experience, it could have been all in my head.
If you want to check out pics from my show and how I progressed, feel free here:

Drinking diet soda makes choking down all the bland shit I do on the daily possible. Peace, G

I HAVE to drink diet pop. Diet dr. pepper keeps me sane. I have insane sugar cravings and most people get there fix with SF Popsicles or Jello. Doesn't do it for me. Diet DP satisfies those cravings.
I mainly drink water or crystal light, but once in awhile I'll have a diet soda. I don't find it make or break for me.

yer i got the same 'problems'! i get insane sugar cravings and LIVE off Pepsi Max, i prob drink a couple of litres of it a day, but im really trying to cut down on it and start drinking mother natures life liquid (h2o)! im sure we've all heard about the supposed dangers of aspartame which is obviously used as the sweetener but im not allergic to it, and fck it keeps me sane!
I mostly stick to water and crystal light. If I need a boost or have a craving I go with a Red Bull or Monster Energy drink. I figure if I am going to splurge I might as well do it right!

Diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Mountain Dew, and Diet Coke are all my favorites. Like G said, it makes eating chicken and tuna a hell of alot easier. Freakshow
I'm not too big of a fan of diet coke. If I drink any type of diet soft drink, it would be diet brisk ice tea or diet ginger ale.

Diet Brisk is my favorite canned beverage--I'll rip through a 12 pack in a day... Awesome shit. How come they don't make it in 2 liter bottles? Peace, G

With all the water you gotta drink when you have a high protein diet I try to stick to just water.
I've had what I suspect to be mild aspartame poisoning before, from my 6+ diet cokes every day for years I suppose. Stopped drinking them, cramps and problems went away. Now I buy the Diet Coke w/ Splenda, little different taste but still delicious. I have a problem with caffeine though...relying too much on it. I need to cut back :-/

I have sworn off pop, not for getting fat, but becaues it tones down my workout. Caffeine is the opposite of L-Arginine, which is the main ingrediant in all your NO supps(turns into NO). Arginine will open up your blood vessels while caffeine will tighten them up. That's why weight loss pills have caffeine in them, to constrict your vessels to make your heart work harder. That and caffeine puts more fat into your bloodstream to burn off. So by drinking enough caffeine while taking NO supps, you are counter acting yourself... so stop it! :-)
Little bit of science for you ^_^

i haven't had a soda since thanksgiving 2003. just hit the water and iced tea. but before the nix, i was drinking too many, for sure. here in n.c., we have to big hitters in soft drink land. cheerwine and sun drop. i was up to 8 or 10 a day and couldn't figure out my weight gain, headaches, and kidney pain.
HELLO, i think it's the sugar and caffine. stopped cold turkey (no pun) and haven't looked back.
I'll have a diet pop for lunch, but other than that I stick with my gallon jug of water w/ crystal lite. I drink 2 gallons just @ work alone. I piss alot, but feel better when I drink that much water.

I use 1 diet soda a day with my #3 meal, I drink 2 gallons of water daily (1 gallon water, 1 gallon of crystal light)

Diet pop is excellent....it makes the chicken and tuna go down so much easier! I just have to catch myself sometimes and make sure i drink enough water as well.

Water is a priority. I do use crystal light like once a day in a 32 OZ bottle, just to give it a little taste.

after going about 6 months drinking only water, drinking any cola was nauseating for me. So if you're the same and can't stand colas then try Sprite Zero or the Diet Sierra Mist. Tastes damn close to the real thing and 0carbs/cals ;)

Very rarely will I drink any soda. I stick to my 2 gallons of water a day. I do drink maybe one a month, and if I do, it is any diet clear soda. The cola feels like it drains me when I do cardio the next day. I definately see a difference when I get on a nice run.

I'll drink a Diet Mt. Dew maybe once a week when I need a boost in the morning...other than that, I think the carbonation in pop tends to make me feel bloated. I stick to water the rest of the time...
I don't think it's too bad for you, however, I have read studies that said drinking a low/no-cal drinks makes people subconsciously think that they can take in extra calories elsewhere.

I never drink pop. To swallow down tuna I have a tablespoon of Gatorade in water; twice a day with the tuna meals. Is that alrite or is that too much sugar?

Diet pop helps with my sugar cravings.
