Is it made out of thicker stuff? Would it work in Chicago weather, or am I better off buying thick winter gear?

I have both. The pull over is much heavier then the zip up.

Waiting for my Zip up to arrive. Don't use pullovers, feel too restricted in them.

I wish they'd bring back these zip ups that were lined. Carhartt zip ups. Those were sweet and heavy duty.

I rock both. Love both. But yes, i would say the pull over is a bit heavier.

A Carhartt Hoodie would be sick.

Well you have the inside track, see what can be done. I have no doubt they would sell.

*sigh* invested into an Ecko Unlimited jacket, So badly wanted to opt out for Animal Zip Up, but unfortunately it's not even heavier than the pullover.

I have both. It all depends on the situation. I'm naturally very warm, so I usually opt for the Zip Up. But if I'm running out to the food store or something, I'll rock the pullover. Both are great.
