Wassup everyone? So after a miserable year and a half layoff at the gym (after getting married a membership was just way too expensive everywhere i looked), i was able to get into a sweet army gym at a good price since my wife works as a pre-k teacher on an army base. So I was back in action for about two solid weeks, really going hard - til i broke my dominant (right) arm two days ago (not in the gym). Went to the doc the next day for xrays and then to an orthopedic. Cast is on, xray looked kinda nasty he said - sending me to another dr for a 2nd opinion since i inquired about surgery to speed recovery. As bad as i wanna get back in the gym, i have two jobs, both of which involve driving - which is going to be difficult to say the least. Hoping that with the surgery, as the doc said, will speed my recovery and get me out of the cast almost right afterwards. Heres some questions:
-are there any additional supps or foods i can take to aid bone growth, or should avoid?
-I'm taking pak every morning, with my protein shake, dropping the coffee since i read that it increases urinary loss of calcium & magnesium. Staying off the vikodin as well since i read nsaid's can retard bone growth. Would an omega 369 complex fall into this category, or would they help naturally with swelling?
-Will flex help at all with the growth/recovery or is pak sufficient?
any advice is helpful, thanks guys. gonna try and do some walking/bike to keep going, probably hit legs as soon as i can move my arm around some more with less pain. cant wait to get back into the fray... its like that itch in a cast that is just out of reach... lol
