I was fortunate enough to be involved in the second round of beta testing of Agent O, so when the final product was release I had to give it a go.

My first reaction to Animal Rage, was that Universal did what always does, listened to its followers. Animal Rage (powder) is everything that I hoped, and more.

The serving size is great; I hate feeling like I’m full of liquid when I hit the gym. The power shot and 4oz of water is perfect, mix it and down it. No fuss no muss.

The taste was significantly improved from the beta test. While it’s still strong, it is the right amount of tart.

As for the actual product results, I am very pleased. Drive, intensity, and a great pump is practically guaranteed.

Universal / Animal really out did themselves this time, great job guys!

I’ve been using Rage since 3/16, and I’m lovin the effects. Currently on a low carb plan and the energy Rage provides me helps me get through Higa’s killer workouts.

IC4 is just about over, the next step for me to start a bulking phase. I’ve lost a lot of weight (fat) and I think it’s high time to replace it with some quality mass.

I’ll be using this log for that journey…

Good stuff. I just ordered some rage myself, the pill form. Ive been using liquids for months, see if a change helps.

I tried the rage in pill form in the beta test, good stuff. I prefer the drink, but both will get the job done.

Todays training was prep work for the 5/3/1 that I'll be starting on monday. First step was to find my 1 max reps on the big 4. Here is what I got...

Bench: 155
Squat: 205.
Mil Press: 140.
Dead: 170.

did some odds and ends just to make it feel like a real training day.

Incle press machine, tri pulldowns (rope), tri extensions, assit dips, assit chins.

Looking forward to getting this going time to put on some mass!

got up and hit the gym this morning for some fasted cardio, banged out 20 mins before I had to get ready for work. hoped on the scales and came in at 215, up 7.5 lbs from the end of IC4. I'm not to worried about the gain as I'm pretty sure thats just due to the fact I'm eating normal carbs again.

5/3/1 starts on monday got the weights all mapped put for my first week, and I'm ready to crush it.

payday is also coming and I'm thinking of possibly picking on both pump and stack.

I'm on my 2nd week of Rage and mental state/focus is one of the major things I noticed which sets it apart from the majority of other pre workouts. I harp on this quite often but another thing is this stuff gives me sustainable muscle energy throughout my workouts. There's no crash either.

I added a forearm exersice to help keep things balanced. I dont want to tweek the base program to much, but I love the pump i get from working them.

Again I added some curls... I found it odd that the routine didnt have any, so I added some.

Im focusing on form over weight.... its so easy to get all vain and over do it. Thats been a problem that has led me to some major back issues. This time around its a marathon not a sprint, I plan on running this to the next Iron contest. So there is no need to rush!

Im not sure if Im overtraining my arms, in this one short week I've taken to finishing my routines with a bi/tri circuit. I guess my one "problem" with rage is that I dont wanna stop lifting! With this much energy, drive, and focus I find it hard to walk away after x sets. I even have added running to my warm up.

Great pump again thanks to rage and a lot hard work. I faltered on a couple of squat reps, but kept pushing for proper form and depth. I prefer going with a box squat over a standard squat that way I know if i hit the right depth. I see no point in short changing myself on such a core exercise.

I added yet another exercise to my core 5/3/1 program, I don't want to over do it, and yet and the same time I have so much drive and energy that to stop at the standard program seems like a waste of time. I think that as long as I keep it with a full rest day in between training days I wont overtax my system.

Yeah i aint never been much for the conventional squat. Got a big powerlifter down at my gym on the regular, seen em doin box squats, something to the tune of 700+, figured i should give that a try, good thing i did man, thats how i managed to getmy 405.

I also found a different % lay out to do on the deloads, one that i am much happier with. $$$ permitting I'll be buying the e-book this week, I would love to read it and get a more complete picture of this program.

Todays training was both awesome and horrible. I thought it went great and in truth it did, but I screwed up the weight progression.... BIG TIME! I have no Idea what I was doing when I set up my training log. I was suppose to base all my % on 180, but for some reason i did it at 145, and even then i had some mistakes.

on 3/30/11 i figured my 1RM on my main 4 exercises.... these are the numbers I got.

Bench:155
Squat: 205
Mil Press: 140
Deads: 170

Now that I've been running the 5/3/1 a little bit, I've come to realize that I think I screwed up those original #'s. I figured my 1RM using the formula in the 5/3/1 book and giving this weeks training I came up with the following for my 1MR on the main 4.

Bench: 189
Squat: 247
Mil Press: 158
Deads: 188

It is possible that some of the jump in weight is due to training, but some of these numbers are just to big of a jump.

I don't plan on making any adjustments to my training lay out till I at least run the training cycles 4 times, if I readjust them at all.

If you read the ingredients, NSC has a lot of similar ingredients as M-Stak. I just think of it as a poor man's M-Stak! lol

good question, I train arms every other day because they are by far my weakest body part. So far it has been going well, for me it seams like the right amount of rest. I'm still getting a good pump after each session, and I'm starting to see solid gains in both weight lifted, and actually size and definition in my arms.

All I can suggest to you is to try it out, every one is different in what works for them. All I know is that I've made more gains on the last 60 days then I have in the year prior, doing it this way.

to deload or not to deload.....

Did it on my first cycle and it felt like a waste, so I'm iffy on if I'm going to do it this go around. I don't want to short change myself, but I think this go around I'm going to skip the deload and see how my body handles it.

No training today as my gym is closed all major holidays.

It looks like this was your -1- week with the 5/3/1, right? Your heaviest week? And you cranked out 8 reps? This is where I suggest people to up your max weights. For your -1- week, you should be hitting maybe 3-4 reps, tops. With the -5- week; aim to hit ~8 reps or so. For strength purposes, you don't want to be repping your -5- week weight for 15 reps.

If you're using the excel sheet for the numbers, just add 20lbs instead of 10lbs to lower body weights for your next phase. And 10lbs instead of 5lb to your upper body movements.

As for the deload, I suggest not really 'deloading'. What I do is I use that week to train with a BB'er split; getting a nice pump using a regular routine, minus the big 4 compound movements. A week later, I'm back to the 5/3/1. On the 4th wave or so, I'll actually break for whole week; no training.

I just ran into this too. I knocked out 14 reps with my bench on 5-week and knocked the weight up for the rest of this cycle to accommodate. Like Aggs said it is a strength building program.

today was awesome, form was tight, weights were great. I would have liked to lock in the last 210, but I just wasn't there. thanks for the support! Ive banged out over 100 sessions of 5/3/1 at this point (-minus deloads) Just gotta get back into logging them on here.

You should start a Training log in the "Your Journey" Section!! I have been training 5/3/1 for the last 2 years and my lifts have went through the roof and keep getting stronger!!
