View Full Version : Animal Pump pre-contest
Hey Animals,
I'm debating whether I should keep taking Pump 6 weeks out 'till my show. I know Pump is not supposed to make you bloat but does the creatine contribute to the subcutaneous water storage anyway? Would you take it all the way to the actual show day?
My diet pretty much consists of chicken breasts, tuna, small pieces of potatoes and wheat tortillas/bread + isolate whey PWO. I get at least a glass of water with every meal and I didn't fuck around with my sodium levels. I guess I'm just trying to figure out why I'm still retaining so much water.
My show is June 2..I am currently taking shock therapy and pump pre-workout, BCAA stack during my training, and storm right after, followed by a portein shake with oats. Then of course ther is the normal carb cycling diet I am on.
I am going to stop Pump and Storm the end of March and start cuts instead.
I will replace Storm with EAA's.
I have not found pump or storm to cause any excessive bloatiness or water rention since I have been using it. Anyway, you know if you are retaining water, it does not take much to get it out of your system either.
I would definitely be drinking more water than you are now.

Try cutting Tuna out, switch to Cod, Orange Ruffe, Tilapia, or Flounder.
As far as Bread and Tortias....I would stick with Sweet potatoes, Natural brown rice, oats, and baked potatoes...
Your water intake is very low....as Toni stated. You need to be taking in ALOT more, between 1-2 GALLONS a day. I wouldn't mess with salt levels until a few days out. 6 weeks out come off creatine, that's just my opinion.

I appreciate the info on cutting out the creatine 6 weeks out. I know creatine causes water retnetion, but since I never bloated or anything on Pump, I never gave it a thought. Thanks Toni69 and IronLeague for keeping me from making a big mistake.

**BOIL your chicken, theres lots of salt in it
**CUT OUT UR TUNA
**You all know how i feel about Creatine, so I wont go into it again
**NO BREAD OR TORTILLAS DURING CUTTING
**try ASPARAGUS............ it really helps get rid of that water, eat it 2-3 x a day EAT WAY MORE GREEN VEGGIES (no lettuce tho)
**at least a gallon of water a day
**NO SHAKES OR BARS
ALWAYS!!!!

Tuna has about 750 mg's of sodium in one can. That's quite a bit, especially if you're eating a lot of it. Enough to hold some water. Go with boiled chicken. But, like IronLeague said, don't fuck with your sodium until a couple days out. Keeping your sodium high until ~2 days out and then cutting it drastically will cause your body to release a natural diuretic that gets the water out. In these 2 days make sure to get a lot of potassium since you'll be pissing it all out. Get more proffesional advice on this as I am summarizing.
