Starting this journey for my 7 year old son. Lil Funky has been training for about a year now. Decided it was time for him to have somewhere besides paper where it is logged he can look back on later, to see what made him into such an animal! He has been doing the 5/3/1 this is his 3rd week first cycle. He has hit many PR's and they just keeping going up! Here is today's work.

Skull Crusher
16x10x3sets

Abs *done after each set*
Crunches 25x6sets

Strong little dude, though!

No I did a lot of research and weights will not affect growth. On dead and squat days the next day after is when he has been hitting growth spurts! Thanks he gives everything he has!

By 16 I say he is taller, bigger and stronger than me.......

If he wants to I will put him in. He told me this morning he wants to get another medal in a jiu jitsu tourney. After watching my meet he may want to do one. I let him decide this stuff, like today I ask him you want to hit 40 for reps or see how much you can hit on singles and well......

Yeah it is our time we get up at 4AM to workout so it is just us we talk about all kinds of stuff. I think I enjoy it more!

I bet you do. I worked out a few times with my dad and even though we are going for different results they are by far my favorite workouts. Wish we could've had more together.

From what I heard he fell asleep at the table last night. He also played in the heat all day after those dead's! I let him sleep late today! I think he got another growth spurt he looked taller again!

Working out with your kids are some of the best workouts ever. I am lucky to have both kids who love to lift. Both are super athletic. My son tries to out do me, but it just does not happen yet. And me and my girl just go in and have some fun, but she is pretty strong. She was out lifting some of the baseball players at the Community College.

And yeah, Funky, you're pretty awesome for doing this. I wish my dad had lifted with me, but I think his ego got in the way because when I was 13 I was already starting to outlift him.

Thanks I like to lift a lot! Like to lift with dad. It is hard to do it but my dad always helps me out.

I got him some stools for his feet before he was keeping feet on bench. Today I tried to teach him form with drive tight back and arch. He got most of it but like me has more work to do. At ~58 pounds@ 7 years old benching 50 is pretty darn good!
