A while back I was doing Hack Sqats when this huge dude loads a bar with 315 and statrs doing rows for reps. I got to watching this animal and lost my focus and got folded up at the bottom. He walked over and looked down and asked me if I was resting or needed a hand. We both got a good laugh out of that one!

To see the look on other people's faces when they realize you are insane. That drives me. I recently started working out with another guy i know who isnt afraid to chirp about his strength. We entered our arena and took our placments. We were doin' Barbbell rows ssw/ deads ssw/ one arm rows. To see the look on his face was priceless on the second round. Then after i practically dragged him through 5 rounds we did straight arm pushdowns with a 5 pin drop. Lets just say he didnt come back to the gym with me.

Haha that's a good one bro, it takes some guts and lots of determination to do a back workout like that. Like Schak said, the person who can succeed in this game is the person who can take the most amount of punishment.

Thanks alot, the compliment is greatly apreciated. I get my training techniques from Steve Michalik who lived by the quote "Train beyond the pain, let death be your only release." I first learned about him in the articles "Intensity or Insanity".

When I was training today, some 6'5" Grizzly Adams looking guy comes up by me, grabs the 115's and proceeds hoist them up on the incline bench. Didn't seem to hard for him to grab them and get them up there...

Then, he can't do ONE rep! He grunts really loud and drops the weight, one of which almost took out my ankle. Needless to say i was not happy about that. I took off my earphones and told him to use lighter weight before he hurts himself.

The guy was pissed. lol I just looked at him again, smirked, looked back at myself in the mirror and gave a little laugh.

I can't stand people like that... pisses me off.

First time i really got sick from legs was about last year when i drop setted squats. I started at 405 for 8, then stripped it to 315 for 8, 225 for 8, 135 for 8... needless to say i was gone. Another time was last month where I did 20 sets of 20 on squat with 45 second breaks in between. The weight was very low around 135 but it still was horrible. I heard someone talk about this work out but that person never backed his shit up and did it, so i did it for him. BTW im 18 and will never quit.

I was blasting biceps and triceps with my friend who decided to come to the gym with me for the day on a guest pass and see what Gold's was like. We enihilated bi's and I was halfway through a set of heavy tricep pushdowns when I got the feeling of people watching me. I'm not massive by any means but I realized there were some BIG effin' dudes staring at me complete my set. I banged out 5 more reps and then took a good look in the mirror, I was completely drenched in sweat, my face was damn near purple and according to my friend my eyes had been bulging out of my head. I realized it was my intensity they were staring it and felt 100x bigger and went into my next set more confident than ever.

This one time I was at my gym, The Athletic Club. And there were these 3 guys about 6 years older then me, looking at themselves in the mirror. And I told them that they were small. So they said lets go outside, I whent. Then when they were about to kick the shit out of me I said I was just joking. Then they whent back inside and continued to look at there tiny biceps in the concaved mirrors.

first time i benched my bodyweight. it had been a goal of mine for years, not that i had the drive or balls to do it for several of those years. a year ago i finally grew a set, started lifting and quickly became addicted. a few months ago i finally achieved that goal, benching 205 for 4 reps. not huge i know, but at the time it was monumental to me, a feeling i will never forget and one that keeps me driving to the next goal: 300.

This one day remains clear in my head...I'm in the gym early morning, same time as always, not to many people around, I'm hitting the squat rack, pushing up close to 400lbs. I move to the leg press, and do a few sets, on my last rep as I'm trying to lock in the weights, my finger gets caught and sliced. There was blood gushing everywhere, I find the closest paper towels I can get and wrap it up the best I can. Did I quit? Naw, I just move on to leg extensions and blast through more sets, I felt a little nauseated, and I puked all over the floor, I cleaned it up the best I could, I remember one person there, she worked there, she looked a little scared and asked me if I needed help, I didn't even have to say anything, I think she knew. I had to finish a few more sets for my hamstrings and calfs. I got them done. It was damn messy, I was bloody, had puke on my shirt and sweat dripping down my face but it was probably one of the workouts I'll never forget. I'm trying to accomplish something, the things that happen along the way are neccessary for growth, when I felt like shit during that workout, I erased it from my mind and pushed on.

One night I was working out late, around midnight. Only me and two other dudes in the weightroom...I'm hammerin my triceps, they're talking. I'm on my last set of CGBP and thinkin of adding a little more weight, so I put on about ten more. I'm able to pump out about 6 or 7 reps, and no spotter. So I think to myself :do I do more or stop here??"...well I decided to try at least one more, wrong choice. I'm sittin here with a bar on my chest, no way to ask for help cuz the other dudes are across the room with headphones. So I figure, I'll widen my grip and bench press it up. Negative. So I ended up rolling the shit down my gut and thighs onto the floor just as the other guys turn and see. I was pissed.

This girl I know that worked at my gym and never worked out before and decided to on a day that I was there. I let her do legs with me since she didn't know what she was doing. When she was done with her workout she was like "thats why I always hear people grunting and stuff ".

My friend wanted to workout with me so he joined on leg day. (Big mistake)
After 4 sets of squats, 4 sets of hack squats, 4 sets of leg presses and topped it off with 8 sets of hams, he lost his lunch and he walked funny for a week

Since I've started out on a 5x5 routine, I've successfuly added weight to my deadlift everyweek. It's been incredible. First week was 315. It was the heaviest dead I'd ever done, and to pullit up for 3 sets of 5 reps was incredible. 3 weeks later, I pull 345 for 3 sets of 5. On my last set, I kinda blacked out after my 2nd rep, the only thing in my mind was the rep I was on. I started visualizing that my Daughter had gotten trapped under something heavy, and if I didn't pull this she would die. Well, I guess I really started yelling at some point, my last rep took a good 8 seconds to get to the top and after I finish that rep I kinda fell over in a heap over the bar. When I stand up, theres some really hot chick in pink pants staring at me funny. So, I just wink and go to my next excersise. You gotta love people who don't know what you just went through

I've got a funny story for you brothers. I'm 5ft 7, 93kilos and use to own a security company. Anyway one day one of my workers 6ft3 130 kilo boys starts mouthing off in front of all the staff how strong he is and that he could wipe me on the gym floor. Fuck that I thought - you dumb mother. I invited him to the gym by saying something like 'if you come to the gym tonight, you won't walk out" He accepts the challenge and tells everyone that tomorrow I'll be the one limping in pain at the staff meeting. That was one enjoyable leg day. Without tellling a lie, he didn't finish the workout and fell over at least three times on the way out. The gym staff had to help him up. The next day at the staff meeting, he couldn't sit in the chair and later asked to have a couple days sick leave.

haha that is priceless...I had a similar experience with a friend.

He joined me on leg day. Halfway through he was running for the bathroom...but he came back and kept going. By the time we left he had passed out walking out the door and had to be treated with oxygen by a lifegaurd (theres a pool at my gym too). He's never going to live that one down.
