sup guys. I was wondering what are some good exercises to hit the lower back? I use the Roman Chair and an actual machine for it, but that gets old quick. I tried Good Mornings today, but it felt a little awkward.

good mornings seated (touch chin to the bench or come close) or good mornings standing. they feel completely different and i'm not sure which one you did.
back raises holding weight.
back raises non weighted.
REVERSE HYPER (my favorite)
straight leg deadlifts

those are the lifts i cycle.
heavy good mornings had a great impact on my deadlift.
i would do them seated and do sets of 5 going up until i could get 3s then move on to heavy doubles.
make sure you make a big chest at the top and keep it the whole way down. you want to work the back
and that arch makes it work.

Standing GMs only feel good for me with a sumo stance. Also, a great lower back exercise is Close Stance Low Box Squats. Take a stance of your regular deadlift, then squat to a low box...it forces you to lean forward a ton. Hits your lower back in much the same way a GM does.
