I prefer a 2 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off training routine while weight gainin' and a 6 on, 1 off routine when cutting.

I may be crazy but I find 5 days on 2 off works best for me...that is just for lifting though. I still do 25-30min. of cardio each day and I totally rest on sat., only cardio on sunday for 45 min to an hour...depending how much junk I ate the night before.
I weigh 112 now, my bodyfat is between 7-8%...trying to gain some size for next show in June...any ideas would be greatly appreciated..I have a fast metabolism.
max bench: 175
max squat: 205 (just getting it back after a back injury)
deads: 185...for now
overhead press: 115

That's some impressive numbers for 112lbs...and especially to be that lean

I also agree. To be shoulder pressing your weight is an accomplishment itself.

Without fail, you'll find me in the gym 5 days a week. I train Mon-Fri w/ weekends off.

I do train hard and am strong for a small gal...I am learning alot off you guys in these forums though. I know now I surely do not eat enough in order to gain a bit more size..not sure if i can gain much more muscle before I start dieting for my next show...mid. feb I will start.
Thanks for the comments..I appreciate it coming from you big boys!

I Dc train so 3 days a week is all that is needed to stimulate growth, outside of the gym is where you feed it. If your not constantly fueling your body with aminos carbs and efas your not gunna grow.

Check your PMs bro. And also check out my training log.
Three is perfect for me right now. Trust me, when squatting each session, heavy medium and light, you don't need anymore than that to grow. 8-)
5 days a week seem to work best for me , but the eating right is everyday.

I am in the gym six days a week, but only lifting four. The other two are cardio.
Split my routine up into Chest/ Biceps, Legs, Back/ Traps, Shoulders/ Triceps and calves/ abs every other day.

Tue.-Thu.: Cardio
Sat and Sun I work as a bus boy at a ridiculously busy restaurant and that is alot of cardio in itself. 6-8 hours on your feet with barely any food.
i train at home, have a pretty decent setup and usually train 5 days a week, although right now i am doing a 4 day a week, 6 week push/pull, just to shake things up a bit. kinda bugging me to be off that extra day though...
to be honest i could train everyday if i really pushed myself but i do need to let my mortal body rest.
so you will find me in the commercial gym 2-4 times a week and at home the other 3-4 days.
5 days a week, for somewhat reason i feel a lot more energized when i started going on 5 days in a row.
Weight room I hit up 4 times a week
and the Dojo twice
Sunday Shoulders and Tri's
Monday Back
TuesdayCardio, and Dojo for 3 hours
Wednesday Legs
Thursday Chest and Biceps, Hour in the Dojo
Friday and Saturday off

My routine is barely allowed to be called a "routine". It's flexible to say the least. I train when I feel like it, which ends up 4-5 days a week. I don't set my days for certain bodyparts, but I do split them up. I train biceps with either triceps or lats. Triceps with either biceps or chest. Shoulders and legs I train on separate days. I always train forearms with biceps, naturally. I always separate my triceps days from my shoulder days by at least one day. Usually my shoulder days are either the beginning, or the end, of the week. Peace out.

+1 to the 5 days group! Depending on what time I roll my ass out of bed on saturday I hit the gym and do cardio. So sometimes I'm a 6'er i guess
a 3 days a week seems to be working to me, but it's more of a powerlifting routine

I started a 6 day routine in September that I have almost completed. I do chest, back, bi's and calves M,W,F with 10 min. of Cardio before and after. On T,TH,S I do Shoulders, Tri's, Hams and Quads, no Cardio. I upped the reps and lowered my rest time. Sunday I rest all day until about 6pm then I play b-ball for an hour and a half. I found that if I take a whole day off without stretching or anything that I am really tight the next day. Basketball is a good social release.

Being taught mostly Olymic lifts due to sports (hockey) my body always responded well to 4 days a week (mon, tues, thurs, fri on and wed, sat, sun off). We usually had games on fri and sat. So i guess that it was really 6 days with the games added in. All lifts were percentages and squating a few days a week was normal. Now I really like 2 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off, 1 on, 1 off. Don't really know why but my body responded well to this after i was done college.

I used to do the same on/off schedule and loved it. Every off day I couldn't wait to get back into the gym, it gave lots of time for recovery and was producing great results. Now I'm doing a 2 on, 1 off, 2 on, 2 off schedule thats also good.
6 days a week. every week. Soon to be 5 on new training plan.
I lift every morning before school. Monday through Friday without fray. Thursday nights I go down and do a whole bunch of cardio now. I'm new to this, and when I started I was scronny. Only about 150. But I already gained a good fifteen pounds.
Without fail, you'll find me in the gym 5 days a week. I train Mon-Fri w/ weekends off.
That's exactly how I like to do it, but if I can't make it on one day, I'll through a Saturday in there.
every three to four days which works out to about 2 days per week. I have found incredible success with the lower volume and i am stronger, bigger, leaner and gaining.

I go 5 days during the week and take Sat and Sun off completely to fully recover. When I'm cutting, I'll do cardio for 30-45 minutes when I first wake up, then lift at night. I'll also do just cardio on Sun.

During the track season (now till may) we lift 2 times a week, lots of olympic lifts and some other bodybuilding lifts but once the season is over usually 4 days a week usually do a upper body, lower body, mixed with some olympic lifts.

whats up guys? I have changed my workouts up so much over the years, and have always shown gains. I think it always good to change your workout days and your days off. I just started the dogg crapp traing or its also called DC trianing. Its M, W, F, but the actual workout is hard core fellas! I have been doing it ten weeks now and im alot thicker. I felt like i was cheating myself at first but after the first week I had some bone deep soreness. Give this workout a try and let me know what you guys think.
You would see me in the gym Mon- Sat I cant seem to get enough of it. Just started routine #9 but replaced thursdays down day with a light chest day. I was born with good legs but upper body I am slacking bad, need to work harder at what genetics left behind.
