Hey guys my mom and sisters, all have a hormone imbalance... dont ask me exactly what but they take some pills to balance it out. I never got my blood tested because I dont feel like there is anything wrong. However, I was thinking could a hormone imbalance throw off your testosterone levels? Do you guys think I should get tested? Any help would be great,

I am no doctor therefore i cannot treat you or recommend any potencial treatment, with that being said I will say that if it was me I'd definitely get my levels tested. I dont know how old are you but a negative impact/or deficit on test level will impact you later down the road if not corrected promptly. Besides all you can get out of it its either a negative youre good to go or treat it and correct it. Then again you mentioned females on your family so it can be attributed to them alone. Regardless youre not on the wrong for seeing where youre at. My 2 cents anyways, hope all is well.

From reading the post I couldn't really tell, so I'll ask. Are you a girl or boy? A hormone imbalance can throw off your testosterone levels. If your insurance will cover the test, then I say get it. Make sure they look at free testosterone levels as well as total and SHBG. If you don't have insurance and aren't independently wealthy, then I wouldn't worry about it until you are symptomatic. Price will vary from place to place, but you will probably be looking down the barrel of about $400.

I don't know about the issues a family imbalance may pose for you but I've had my testosterone checked twice this year for extreme fatigue, libido issues, etc.
Both my total test and my free test were within "normal" ranges, but barely (literally). Lab range was 9 - 30 for free test and my was 9.2.
The first doctor said I was fine and that my issues were probably just in my head and the second (most recently) said that I was within normal range, gave me an prescription for viagra and told me to basically deal with it. I told him that I've taken Stak before on several different occasions over the years and literally felt like a different person. He basically said that "supplements don't always work and that it was probably a placebo". <Rolls eyes> His nurse thought it was strange that he wouldn't at least look into it because at my age, with it being so low already, levels tend to continue to drop as you get older.
I feel as though, if you had low test issues, you'd probably know it because you'd feel horrible.

Definitely get it checked though and good luck.

i agree w sum of the previous posts. i dnt know y u would get any work done w any urgency unless u are experiencing problems. if ur family is predisposed to hromoen abnormality, deficiency, etc ofcourse it coudl affect test levels. then again it may only cause detriment to the women in ur family. without insurance i woudlnt bother. but once u get it, standard blood work shouldnt b a hassle if u wanna satisfy ur curiosity.
