With my cycle of "Project Stak," I'm going to be using it to attempt to maintain/gain strength while losing body fat. I've used the current Stak for this many times in the past, and have usually had some pretty good results. I expect that "Project Stak" will give me some solid results in this regard as well.

Currently, my split (5/3/1) looks like this:

Monday- Cardio
Tuesday - Bench/Accessory/Cardio
Wednesday- Deadlift/Accessory/Cardio
Thursday - Cardio
Friday - Military Press/Accessory/Cardio
Saturday - Squat
Sunday - Off

I haven't run dedicated 5/3/1 in awhile, and my training has been comparatively light for the past several months. Because of this, the numbers I'm using for 5/3/1 are less than my actual maxes. I want to make sure I hit the required rep ranges and get myself used to regular heavy training again.

Diet-wise, I eat very clean Monday-Friday and cheat on the weekends. In terms of the clean eating, I don't strictly count calories or macros. Instead, I focus on the quality of food that I eat, timing, and portion control. Essentially I do a loose form of backloading, more or less winging it. This has worked well for me in the past, where I have been able to steadily drop body fat with minimal strength loss or even strength gain. For example, I managed to drop 35+ pounds in about 3-4 months a year ago using this method.

Got started at the gym later than I had planned, didn't have time to get my cardio in there before they'd close. Did it as soon as I got home from the gym.

After the deadlifts, the rest of the session felt awesome. Worked up a killer sweat and was absolutely spent by the time I left.

Indeed. Nothing too strict or crazy, as that usually backfires for me. Instead, I try to gradually lean out without losing too much strength. I started in January of 2012, sitting around 319. May of '12 I was down to about 275, and that was the last time I weighed myself before earlier this week. I weigh less now than I did a year ago, so all in all not too shabby.

Disclaimer: I am very stim tolerant. I would not recommend taking Cuts, Rage, and Pump together without removing the red pills from Cuts & Pump. I left them in today, but I did so today purely for experimental reasons, at my own risk. For the majority of people that would be way too many stims.

Normally I would take my second daily packet of Cuts 4-6 hours after the first, and I wouldn't be training for another 4+ hours after that. I do normally leave the red pill in the Pump when I take it on weight training days, even though I take Rage as well. On my cardio-only and total off days I always take the red pill out of Pump and save it for another day, and I only take Rage when I'm hitting the weights. Today I wanted to try an experiment to see how it would affect me, just out of curiosity. I will probably do the same thing tomorrow. Overall, I didn't notice much difference one way or another...no more or less energized, no "jitters" or "shakes," heart rate and sweating were normal.

Yeah, I feel the effects of stims but I can tolerate high doses, so it's kinda a win-win. Still, I try to not overdo it too often so as to not build up a tolerance to where they don't work.

Realistically my goal is to go 9/9 on my lifts. First meet, so that's what is most important. As it gets closer I'll have attempts figured out, but even then I will keep it conservative.

Same as yesterday, definitely felt the stims but nothing too strong. No real side effects either...heart rate and sweating were normal, no dizziness/shakes/jitters or anything like that. Still, this is not something I will be doing regularly, if ever again. Even with my tolerance, that's way too many stims and I'm going to completely desensitize myself if I regularly take that much. I will still keep my red pill in the Pump when I take Rage, and take it out on off days or when I'm doing cardio only. I'm also going to continue to separate Cuts and Rage by at least four hours, as I have always done in the past.

Met up with Nix0r at Jakked for this session today, he was hitting deads. Standing_Guard was there pulling as well. Awesome gym and an amazing atmosphere to train in.

Off day today.

I took one pack of Cuts upon wakening, and then about four hours later I took "Project Stak"/Cuts/Pump(Minus Red Pill)/Nitro.

For the sake of consistency, I try to take my supps at the same relative time every day, even on off days.

Also, whenever I put a "/" in between supps, that usually indicates a 15 minute gap. I try to take my pre-workout stuff staggered by 15 minutes leading up to when my training starts. I figure it will allow for better absorption, especially considering how much stuff I take pre-workout and the fact that none of them are liquid.

Sore as all fuck today but it feels good.

I'm doing well, haven't noticed any more or less hunger. Cut is moving along, slowly but surely, sticking to the diet without any real issues. Part of it is that I try to eat at least something every 2-3 hours, and I'm constantly drinking water, so overall that helps tremendously with any hunger issues.

I also eat whatever the hell I want on weekends, ha ha. I know I'd lose more faster if I didn't, but for one thing it keeps me sane, and once work picks up I'll be burning a shit ton of calories just from work (especially when it gets hot), so it will be like a refeed/refuel kinda thing. Worked last summer quite well, my work clothes were falling off of me by the time fall hit, and that was with my training being shit last summer.

With the bench, I knew going from 255 to 300 was a big jump, not to mention more than the max I'm working with for the 5/3/1. However, the 255 was a total smokeshow, and being my last week on Project Stak I figured I'd go for a PR.

Thank you! Like Appollonian said in my other thread I think had I not repped out the 240 I might have gotten it...normally I don't go for reps before attempting a PR, but I was feeling good and figured why the fuck not. Either way I'm pleased, seems like my pressing is finally coming along.

If you don't try, you'll never know. Awesome effort Phil. About 5 weeks ago I dumped 475 in the squat rack. Sure everyone looked at me, but I don't see anyone else testing their limits either. Maybe I'm due for a rematch at the end of my PStak run too?

I'd like to do a dedicated week of testing my maxes sometime before my meet. Starting Body Weight: 284.6 (3/11/13)

Ending Body Weight: 289.0 (4/1/13)

I didn't lose any weight during my cycle. However, this is not due to "Project Stak" but rather a need to tighten up my diet a bit. I weighed myself a few other times throughout my cycle and I was hovering between 285-290. Also, some of that is clearly water, as I ate a shit ton of salty food and sugar on Easter Sunday.

I definitely felt stronger on "Project Stak," especially during the last week of the cycle. I hit some solid reps on bench press and military press, a PR on deadlifts, and squatted 405 for the first time in a long time. Whether reps or heavy singles, strength was up, even with reduced calories and lack of sleep in some cases.

The first week I was very sore, but it was also the first week I had trained hard in awhile. As the cycle went on recovery improved, especially the final week, which was also my heaviest week of training.

I noticed some increase in libido, but nothing too intense or extreme.

With "Project Stak," I did feel less fatigued. This was most noticeable pre-workout.


Overall, I think this stuff is outstanding. Given my experience, I think "Project Stak" will work well for someone trying to maintain strength while shedding excess bodyfat. I imagine that it will work even better for someone trying to get bigger and stronger. I wouldn't change or adjust anything, and I will definitely be using this when it comes out.
