Fellas, The Cage has come and gone... But to relive it, if only for a moment, we've come up with a very special promo...

We've gotten a ton of requests for those grey workshirts that all the Animals were wearing in The Cage. We're not selling 'em, nor are we planning to, but I got my hands on two of them, size XL. These are the same exact shirts that the fellas wore in The Cage.

Two lucky winners are gonna bag one of these. To go the extra mile, we're gonna embroider the "member" names of the two winners on the shirt, just like we did for the Animals. Exciting enough for ya?

To enter, write a short essay on what Animal means to you and how it has changed your life. Not too long, not too short--just enough to express your feelings. The Watchmen will pick the two best essays. So start thinking, and get writing... This promo is open to all the members here. Good luck fellas.

For pics on what they look like, go here: http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?t=3684

Animal means a brotherhood, the brotherhood in iron. The Animal line represents and supports that end. It feeds and nurtures it. The Animalpak site, the Cage, the FORVM, one after the other improvements and solid supports of one another. It is the home made out of iron. Advice, motivation and knowledge are all provided and honored at Animal.

Wearing that "A" is a badge of honor. It represents truth, honesty and respect.

Doesn't matter if you're the new lifter to the game or the season vet and pro. Lifters, bodybuilders and powerlifters, men and women, young and old, all are welcomed and respected here at Animal and the FORVM.

Animal is home.

Animal means getting up everyday, physically and emotionally challenging myself, and forcing myself to get through the pains that life has shown me. Over my almost 19 years of lifting, I have had 5 surgeries related to injuries that were related to lifting. The 3 shoulder operations were the toughest to get past, but as I sat for many months on my ass getting fat on the couch, I started to remember who I used to be. This is where Animal came in and gave me the slap in the face that I was so desperately needing. I started to train lightly, using pak and cuts, and shortly I started to see some positive results. From there I went to my favorite Animal supplement, Stack 2, and watched myself increase at a level I did not think possible at my age. Now at almost 31 (March 29th), I am in better shape than I have been in for almost 20 years. I am stronger than I have been since my power lfiting days in college, and it has been with the help of Animal that I have achieved it. Without Animal, I might very well be some fat schmuck still sitting on the couch. Even if I do not win, thank you

Damn fellas..now that is what I call a kick ass promo...good luck to you guys.

The fellas at Corporate sent them to me to use for myself, which was awesome since I didn't get a chance to go to the Arnold. But I figured, The Forvm is such a great place, why not reward the members of the Legion instead? So here they are... Got Corporate to swing for the extra bucks needed for the custom embroidery, so we're all set... Good luck fellas.

Animal means balls to the walls. Never slacking off....treating each session, each set like it's a gift to be treasured and never taken for granted....because you're only cheating yourself.

I was just thinking last night how cool it would be to offer those to the forvm members with our sign in names!! I would MORE than love one to go with my new stretch fit hat!!!

edit: I take a large

Being a Animal means getting your butt to the gym and pushing yourself everyday, even if you don't want to be there. Making the most of every workout, pushing yourself so hard that you can not move after you are done. It doesn't matter the weight as long as you push the most that you can push, and then push even more the next workout.

Animal for me has been both a noun and a verb. Not only has it always been there whispering in my head, but i have been livin it. Yeah i was once that fat kid, subconscience of myself, knowing what needed to be done. I "trained" or what i thought was training for about a year as if i had blinders on my eyes. My junior year in high school, after losing 30 lbs and down to 150 lb, i was introduced to the way of the Animal and suddenly had an epiphany. It was all suddenly clear to me how to live my life and how to train. You see, being an Animal is not just about how you train, but how you live because it is a lifestyle. An Animal must set the bar far others and be a leader amongst his brothers, because it is a brotherhood, a since of belonging.
Training like an Animal has forever altered my body, for now, three years later, i am at 230 lb and still growing. In these past three years, my path has been laid before me and i have accepted it, anxious to travel it more every fuckin day. Peace brothers, strength and honor.

What Animal means to me is reliability and trust. I can rely on the pak for the energy and focus I need while training and to help build me back up after. I can trust it simply by my own experience taking it. It hasnt let me down, ever.

Animal means getting up everyday knowing that you are stronger mentally and phyiscally more than the average person. It is not only adjective but a way of life that shows the upmost respect for the iron and how to treat it. However, Animal is not a lifestyle that everyone chooses to accept, only the strong willed and motovated do. For Animal is not a game that we play for only a couple of weeks and throw it away. Animal is the lifestyle of a true warrior who knows what sacrfice is and is willing to do what it takes.

I've always wanted to be the best at everything I do. And if I put my mind to it I can achieve anything. This is also true in the iron game. ANIMAL to me is DEDICATION, MOTIVATION, DISCIPLINE, and DESIRE. These are the principles that guide me in my quest to become EXTREME. Before I start a workout this is where I come to get in "the ZONE". This is ANIMAL, this is who I want to be!

Go hard, or go home!

To me, Animal means having the strength, courage, and determination to become what you desire. Redefining yourself over and over in a never-ending quest to achieve more. Forsaking all excuses and plowing through all roadblocks in the name of physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth. I started in a dark place of self pity and weakness. Animal has shown me the light. Now the only darkness is that which befalls the iron every time I do battle with it.

Strength and Honor.

Animal to me means a lifestyle that a select few choose. Everyday I wake up ready to battle the mental and physical aspects of life, but more importantly I wake up ready to battle the iron. Every day in the gym I battle the iron and I WILL NOT let it win. My goal is to punish the iron unlike everyone else in the gym who gets punished by it. But Animal goes much farther than inside the gym. Every day I am in a battle with my stomach to get that extra can of tuna down, or eat more piece of chicken. Animal is about winning those battles to become something and someone greater. I see kids in my gym wearing Animal gear, but they don't wear it with pride. I am proud to have that A on my chest because it signifies all the blood, swear, and tears I have put into this sport. I REFUSE to loose my battle because I am an Animal, and Animal's never loose.

What does animal mean? Primal. I think about animals in the wild. There is a mentality there that is unforseen by man. Every day in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. Today, this gazelle must be faster than the others, or he will become lunch. Every day a lion wakes up, and if he isn't sneaky enough, he will starve. They must exert themselves to the maximum on a daily basis in order to survive. If the deer says, man I'm tired today maybe I'll go 3/4 speed then he's dinner. If the lion says, man I'm tired I can't push hard enough to take this buffalo down then he won't eat. Animal to me is being able to tap into that type of mentality, the do or die syndrome. An animal does not have an "off" day in the gym. Maybe you didn't get enough sleep, maybe you're not feeling as sharp as you did the day before. The animal dosen't care how he feels, he will give 100% every time he steps in the gym. For at the end of the day, there can only be one winner. If you pushed yourself to your limits, used all your resources, then at the end of the day you can sleep soundly knowing that you triumphed. If you failed, maybe that last rep or two you just weren't feelin it today, then you're lion food. That is animal.

It started off as a multi-vitamin in a yellow can. Nothing special, just something that seemed more complete for me than the other choices out there.
Now its so much more, IT is a way for me to handle life, not to hide from anything. Now I treat life, problems, roadblocks, challenges the same way I treat the iron, Head on and by the horns. One rep, one set, one day at a time. Never satisfied and always wanting to be better than I was/am.

Have you ever seen a dog smile? There is two things you see when that happens- teeth and eyes. The ANIMAL is that spirit that refuses to be tamed- it’s the side that pushes you when you really don’t wanna hit the gym, hit one more rep, or keep to swallowing that shake when you wanna just gag it on the floor. It’s the side if me that breathes a brotherhood with the ANIMAL who are bigger than me, because when we lock eyes, pins, clips, locker, we know that it’s the mindset, dedication, effort, and passion that makes us exactly the same despite the weight difference. That’s why we have friends in the gym and we don’t really even know their names, but we know their ANIMAL.
There is a brutal side, a solid strength that is deep inside of everyone. A savage will that demands attention, yet so few let it out. We do that- we learn to control, focus, and train that ANIMAL so we can use its fury to our benefit. We, I am different from the others. We see the kill before we strike- we have the end already in our minds every time we enter the gym; I picture the stalk, the attack, the fight, the blood, and finally the kill; I live my life for the moments in the gym, just as the animal lives for his hunt. We are similar; a wild beast fills his stomach with others blood, I fill my muscles with my own blood after a hard lift. The ANIMAL is the side that is wild enough to never quit, and never let what is important die.

To me, Animal means a way of life, both mentally and physically. Mentally, it's about cutting through all the bullshit and getting back down to the bare bones essentials of things. Being true to and respecting yourself, and to do the same to those around you, and doing so with honor. To be an Animal is to have inner strength and courage, having the mindset to push yourself past any preconceived limitations, to never quit, and to triumph in the face of adversity. With this also comes intelligence, and the knowledge that sacrifices will have to be made at times. It's also about knowing yourself and your body, knowing that there is always room for improvement, and always striving to learn more. Physically, it's about giving your all, and holding nothing back. Training with intensity, pushing oneself to the limit, and never settling for anything less than maximum effort. It's about overcoming discomfort and pain in order to succeed, yet at the same time taking care of oneself, as one can not truly succeed as an Animal without proper rest and nutrition. An Animal walks tall and proud, but does so with modesty, and with dignity. My life has changed for the better since I discovered Animal. Not only in terms of the physical changes I have undergone, but also in the way I look at and approach life. Animal has shown me the way to be a better person, both in body and in mind. I can honestly say that I would not be the man I am today if it weren't for Animal. I have come a long way from where I was, but I still have a long way to go, but being an Animal, I know that I will ultimately emerge triumphant.

To me, Animal means..... INHUMAN..... Going through the strife of everyday life trying to exceed. Being the best and not letting anything stand in your way. A true Animal doesn't care how others look at them, they see themselves every day in the mirror, critiquing every cut and striation. Constantly trying to get bigger, stronger and leaner. IT NEVER ENDS.

Animal to me is a way of life ...it keeps me motivated ...on days where im tired, sore, sick,in a crappy mood or when life throws something at me thats just really hard to handle i think what would an animal do ...on days like this when im thinking about not going to th gym ...i say an real animal might feel the same way about going out to hunt its prey ...but you know what its instinct and it does it anyway because it dont its offspring and its bloodline dont live on ...and if i dont get to the gym and toss that iron around ...my dream wont live on.

The alarm goes of at 4:40 am, I kiss my wife, go across the hall and kiss my son. After I get dressed, I walk down the stairs going over my workout in my head. I start sweating just thinking about my lifts. When I get downstairs I fill up a glass of water and take my supplements, then it's the one mile ride to the gym. In my head, at this point, I've already won and the damn weights didn't have a chance. I walk over to the weight stacks and tell them how I'm gonna kick their ass.....Then I do it! I'm sure everyone around me thinks I'm a freaking lunatic, but hell, I am....I'm an Animal. Animal has given me an edge and made me more confident in my lifts. I can lay down and know a 350lb bench or a 500lb squat isn't going to be a problem. So, if a 350lb bench or a 500lb squat isn't a problem how easy is the rest of my day going to be? That's what Animal means to me......

Animal?

A:The Aggresive Pursuit of your Goals. Not be derailed. Never to be satisfied.
After all "Satisafaction is the Death of Desire"

N: Never Bend to the Apathetic Masses those that tell you it cant be done.
If thosearound you say it cant be done your response should be I will do
it Myself. And to never forget where you came from and always help a
brother or sister in need. Whether it be a pat on the back or kick in the
ass! Never Retreat, Never Surender this is Animal Law.

I: "I" The constant improvement of "I" to forever reach and achieve new
boundries, only to break them. Everytime the "I" is improved and
redefinded we all benefit from the achievement.

M: Master. To Master ourselves, to overcome. To Master our goals and set
new ones, ever foward.

A: Attitude. We know why we are here, what we have to get done and we
do it. No complaints, no excuses. Shut up and Train.

L: Last. To be the Last to leave the Gym, the Mat, The Ring. To be the
living sacrifice to your path.

What does it mean for me? It feeds the fire and that is everything...

It’s dark out side…the alarm just went off…I lay there thinking about how good the bed feels and how much I would rather go back to sleep…but I limp on. I drag myself out of bed and in to some clothes. I am on the road and I have only passed five cars on the way to my sanctuary.

I walk in and there is nothing…the lights aren’t all on and there is no one else there. This is where I spend most of my morning…an empty, lonely room filled with pain and sacrifice. The time has come to train again…to push myself harder then the day before. I long for greatness and strive for excellence, even though I know they will never come. I lie below the weight and strain for the existence that I long for… the fulfillment of a desire. Up and down the weight goes as I drive on and on into the day…as the lights began to flicker on. Shadows now walk amongst me…watching my every move…my every effort…my every aspiration. I push while they sleep…I grow while they dream…I sacrifice while they live…and in the end I know I will over come…

For it is pain and persistence that drive the animal in me…

Got no choice anymore...That's what it is to be an Animal. Gettin up at 4 am, pushin weight by 4:30am. Knowing what I'm going to eat every meal, every day, for a week in advance. Pushin myself to the limit and beyond everyday and lovin it. Its automatic, its not a question of whether or not I'm going to do it anymore, its how far I'm going to take it. That's Animal.

That each day is a choice, either you decide to mold the day to your iron will or fold and succumb to the mediocrity of the masses. The path of an animal knows no limits, flesh and blood only take form after the mind has driven past what mortals consider impossible. The animal lives knowing that death is on his shoulder, driving him relentlessly to a destination that only few will ever achieve. Your potential awaits you, what will you do with it?

Animal is not caring about what is hot right now. Animal is about get the job DONE. It's not working your "core" on swiss ball, it's working your ass off in the heat of the summer or the dead ass cold of the winter until your goals have been met. Day in and day out I will chip away at myself until the perfect structure appears. That what being an ANIMAL is all about.

Animal....animal is my way of life. After the surgery where they cut off 2 of my fingers, i turned to the site for the inspiration needed to get my ass back in the game. they told me i wouldnt be able to do arms anymore because of it. I told em that there was no one powerful enough to stop me from living my Life.. I have never looked back and regretted any decision i have made in my life, because i know that i am living my life the way i was meant to...the Animal Way.

I was first introduced to this site about 2 years ago. Since then it has given me immeasureable knowledge about this sport, but more importantly it has given me motivation and discipline for the gym and my everyday life. One particular example that comes to mind:

Last September, I came to a new town to live on my own for school. I know now this is not that big of a deal, but a good friend was supposed to live with me and go to school here. He bailed at the last minute and I had to come here on my own, I was pretty disheartened and confused. I was really attached to my friends and family back home and it was tough to come live in a smaller town all alone. That is, until I read Wrath's week 4 entry entitled "The Power of One". That day, I gave up being a "Ninety-nine". I immediately got over my dilemma, and made the best of my situation. I bulked for almost 4 months and put on about 10-15 pounds of muscle (we'll see how much after I cut). I learned that living on my own was probably the best thing possible for achieving my goals, as a student and as a bodybuilder.

Everytime I need a kick in the ass, I'm on this site looking for that little something that will get me going. I'm now thinking of entering my first competition next year. I'm not worried about motivation, because I know where to find it.

Animal means understanding and devotion. Animal is a company, a product, a person, a group of people, a family. Animal is about more than giving us great supplements, which they do. Early Animalpak.com gave us thoughts, feelings, and insights on the bodybuilding liftestyle, enough to create a bond between it's followers. Now with the Forvm, the bond is even stronger. The brothers and sisters of the Forvm can interact with one another, and take the support, inspiration, knowledge, and meaning of family to a whole new level. Imagine seeing a stranger in an Animal T-Shirt. You may not know them from the outside. But deep down, you can just tell they feel what you feel, know what you know, and see the world the same way you see it. And that my friends, is the Animal Bond.
Some time ago, Animal took my recreational attitude towards working out, and turned it into a full fledged passion for success. Along the way Animal has taught me to be focused and brave, confident yet humble, and above all undeterred from what I am set out to accomplish. Everything from the supplements, to the Animal Crew, to the website and the Forvm, all contribute to what makes Animal the great thing that it is; the deep seeded feeling of family that has helped each and everyone one of us get a little bit closer to where we want to be.

Animal means living life in 3-D: Diligent, Disciplined, Dedicated.

Diligent – steady, earnest and energetic effort – Animals don’t give up, we have our sites on the Goal and nothing short of death will get in the way of achieving. We put everything we’ve got into this and when we get knocked down, we get back up quicker and more determined.

Discipline - training that corrects, molds, or perfects – Animals bring body, mind and spirit into subjection in pursuit of the Goal. The cost is secondary to its pursuit. We punish ourselves with iron, restrain ourselves from taking the easy way out like 99% of the world does, we abide by a higher code of values.

Dedicated - devoted to a cause, ideal, or purpose – Animals work through the pain, the resistance and the ignorance that we face everyday from our body, our friends and the just plain stupid.

How has Animal changed me? I knew all about being diligent, disciplined and dedicated; the problem was I knew it in my head, but not in my heart. Animal has been the catalyst for the journey from the head to the heart and that’s where livin’ starts and the gains are finally real.

To me animal means the rare inner instinct we possess to defy the norms and the molds society sets out for us. to never give up on our goals, to never say i'll do it tommorow, and to have the toughness not to be underminded by the negativity thrown at us by the "ninety-nines". To these "ninety-nine" we should be caged because we are different, and to them something different is dangerous. So cage me while you can....just leave the bar so i have something to play with.

Spartan General and King Leonidas screamed it to the Persian Emperor Xerxes; Larry Scott, Sergio Olivia, "The Oak", Franco Columbo, Frank Zane, Cris Dickerson, Samir Bannout, Lee Haney, Dorian Yates, Ronnie, and Jay have all screamed it to the world as they accepted the coveted Sandow....."MOLON LABE!!" (pronounced mo-lone lah-veh) is what they screamed. "Come and Get Them" is what it means.

Animal screams this in my head every minute of every day, to my face when I look in the mirror...the iron screams it when I step into the gym.

Molon Labe....the aches, pains, blood, sweat, tears from the daily battle that is the way of the Animal!!

Molon Labe.....the strange looks from the haters that don't understand the way of the Animal!!

Molon Labe....the criticism of the EX-girlfriends that are jealous of the time we spend in the gym and not with them!!

Molon Labe....the brotherhood that is the FORVM in which we all share our dreams, sacrifices, defeats, and TRIUMPHS!!

Molon Labe....the raw and uncut victory, joy, and excitement that results from breaking a new personal record, winning a competition, or seeing a new cut as a result of living the life of an Animal.

THAT IS WHAT ANIMAL MEANS TO ME AS I AM SURE IT DOES YOU, TOO!!

In short, Animal is the lifestyle of a person who cares about always doing the right thing in life. Whether it be taking care of business in the gym, at work or at home with the family, an animal always gives 100% to be the best that they can be, without excuses. Everyone has the potential to act like an "ANIMAL," but only a few posses the work ethic and drive it takes to BE an animal.

Animal stands for a certain attitude! You understand the meaning of getting what you want and the effort it takes to get there. From the time you get out of bed and the time you fall back in, you think of nothing but iron and the moving of it. Pain and suffering is just part of life and you look forward to it!
Eat,drink and lift for tomorrow may never come.

ANIMAL is a way of life, you either know what its about or not. Often people look at ANIMAL(s) as freaks...juicers, or whatever they may want to label us, but they just dont understand. Animal is waking up in the middle of the night to get in another meal, then a few hours later waking up, eating eggs and oatmeal out the ass. We dont do things here for taste, we dont use bullshit products, no 4 page ads in any muscle mag. Animal is the forvm, the journey, the legion as a whole, a hardcore bodybuilding, powerlifter family. Animal is a family where you can ask questions and get answers no sugar coated bullshit. Same with products....and you wonder, how did animal change my life? Fuck....where to begin, ah yes ANIMAL PAK, and NITRO. thats where MY JOURNEY began, after completion of the first cans already saw 20 lb gains on my bench, and more plates on all my lifts. Everymornin' i await the lovely Pak Piss just as much as my next meal, or leg day. Animal has changed my life because of the FORVM, for us animals that WERENT able to go to The CAGE, our brothers provided us with kick ass pictures and promos...such as this (thanks U-REP) and the Flexfit hats comin into the shop so soon. Animal has changed me, it's let out a beast that only the weights can tame....for only a while though. I've changed 2-3 meals a day into 4-5 solid meals along with 2 shakes and 31 pills. Thats what ANIMAL means to me.....and thats how animal changed my life.

What an honor it is to be called......an ANIMAL

In this body...in this 53 year old soul was lurking an animal...but had no means of escape...no way of expression and has been laying dormant for over 24 years. I reentered the gym last July to find myself...to reclaim my life and heath and find my soul. Old school came badk to life...the body responded...with much pain and agony...but was back. Something was missing....routene was good...diet was good...and thought suppliments were on the peg...then found the animal pak web site....and my life changed. I got onto the forum...read the many threads...became a member and from that time...the animal within started to rear its head...and through this forum...through the animal products...the animal found a way to escape and live....my walls in my office are covered with 7 of the wildest posters ever seen in a professional setting...all my brothers in iron...every day telling me...never give up...never do anything half ass....push hard and live long...the message is clear to me every day...and now this animal is no longer lurking...but out...and pulls me into the gym...gives me the power to move forward...watches over me as i reclaim my life...my health and soul.... this Animal was inside all along...but with this forum...with my brothers in iron...with the products that support me along with the people at UN in NJ... this animal is out...alive and has a means to express itself in iron. The animal is what lives with me and knows what we leave behind is not as important as how we have lived....

When one hears the word animal, many definitions come to mind: the physical, sensual, or carnal nature of human beings or possibly an inhuman person, brutish or beast like. For me, when I think of Animal, I think of instincts, needs and family. The need to perservere, the need to overcome hardships, the need to survive. Here at AnimalPak.com, we are all dedicated to the same principles and the same ideas; we're a brotherhood and a family. When one bleeds, we all bleed. It is because of our perserverance, our survival instincts, and the hardships we have overcome that we cry the same tears and bleed the same blood: Animal means greatness, we are all Animals.

What ANIMAL means to me is that I am not alone in this lifestyle. All the feelings and emotions, ups and downs, sacrifices and victories that come with this work are only understood by a few. ANIMAL let's me know I am part of a community. Underground as it may be to some, a community none the less of iron brothers who understand me, and I them. Every time I see that "A" it proudly reminds me of this; and reminds me I still have work to do.

Being an animal is a state of mind. Just because someone can walk into the gym and hit 500 on a bench, doesnt make him an animal. If he walks away after the set and hits on a girl and doesnt strive to become anything better, then he is a fool. An animal is the guy who is stuck on 185 and works his ass of for a month just to get to 195 and once he is there, sets his sights on 205. The gym is not a social club. "Shut up and train" "Im not here to talk". Words any real animal lives by. If you ask a powerlifter what his maxes are, and he says 20 pounds over what they really are, hes a fool. If he tells it like it is and doesnt bullshit, chances are hes an animal. It means approaching the gym with wreckless abandon and doing it right the first time. It means setting your sights on a goal and taking down everything standing in your way.

When your young life revolved around "why are you so skinny?" now you hear "Are you on steroids or something?" now don't get me wrong, i got tired of my shirts fitting loose and being a medium, and decided to do something about it, FOR ME. i hit the gym and didn't know what i was doing. an hour seemed an eternity, now it's not enough, an XL fits like a glove and my waist is still the same size. an animal gives it his all and says fuck the world this is for ME. your products have given me the edge that makes me all the better.
thanks.

Animal is EATING, TRAINING, SLEEPING. Animal is waking up at 4:30 in the morning to make sure you get your first meal of seven. Making meals fit for a family of 4 and pounding them down in 30 minuntes, taking you so close to puking you want stick your fingers down your throat. Animal is training balls to wall, no-holds-barred, putting your blood sweat and tears into every rep like it was your last. Animal is sleeping like you're a bear in the middle of winter. Giving up going to that party, staying out getting drunk, just to make sure you get your much needed rest, with the only thing to look forward to is waking up the next morning at 4:30 to start the vicious cycle again. I wouldn't change a damn thing, ANIMAL IS LIFE.

Animal is one hell of a company, a warrior in the gym, and a straight up, no-nonsense lifestyle. It truely has changed my life. Ever since I first started taking Pak & noticed better gains, I've tried almost all of your products, and loved every single one of them. But the real animal in me really began to bear it's angry face once I started reading the articles on the site. Never in my life has something gotten me more pumped up, determined, or focused on not only meeting my goals, but smashing my limitations to pieces. Because if there's one thing that Animal has tought me, it's that there are no such thing as limitations, and they're just excuses we make for our shortcomings. Animal has kept me strong from under the bar loaded w/ plates to walking down the hallways of my high school where I'm accused of taking steroids and people talk relentlous amounts of shit about the life I chose to lead. Animal has motivated me to take my agression towards them out on the iron, instead of the kid sporting "computer mouse-cord arms" as Big Ant once said. I could go on forever about what you guys have done to change my life, but I'll leave it at this: Animal has made me exactly that, a hardcore, teeth-beared freak in the gym.

Animal means one thing to me: Everything. It's the very staple in my bodybuilding life that couldn't be replaced, not by the so called Greatest Supplement Invented. It's the very core of training. The very core of my dieting, and the very core that puts me on stage infront of hundreds of people. When I first stumpled upon this website a few short years back, I knew I was in it for the long hall. This is the life, the life that I live, plain and simple. I've chosen this road as an Animal, and that is greater than any lift I could preform, and any placing I could get in any contest: that is what it means to me, to be an Animal.

What does animal mean to me? It's a mentality, philosophy, ideal, and way of life. To me, it fights against the materialist world. I don't give a shit about fancy cars, hip clothing, the boat in my neighbors driveway, or the 4 story house I drive past on my way to the gym. To a true animal, these material things mean nothing. Black and white, cut and dry, no bullshit and straight to the point. Some may say it's ugly and some may run screaming after hearing about it, but I wouldn't live my life any other way. It's a discipline forged in iron and tempered by fire. It can't be broken by anything but ourselves. All true animals are blacksmiths. They toil away in the grime, darkness and heat to create a masterpiece that others would consider to be monstrous. I'll be there beside all of you animals, forging myself in iron. This is what animal means to me.

How has it changed my life? Where do I begin brothers? From a physical standpoint, animal has brought me from a tall and lanky 160 lb. senior in highschool to a current 237 lb. iron wielding man. Because of animal, I've set long term and short term goals which i will die before giving up on them.. Animal has kept me away from drugs, drinking and promiscuous sex. Because of the life I lead, I can't afford to be involved in these things. Just like you don't want shit in your water, or dust in your eye. I've watched friends fall by the wayside, their lives gone to shit, and yet I still forge my trail. I can honestly say that I've never been happier than I am now. When I found the animal way of life I found my true self. Becuase of animal, I know who I am and who I will become. Nothing or no one is going to stop me, because animal is the driving force that will send me hurdling through barriers.

I have a undenying ability to achieve a state of complete liberation. The clanking of weights leave echoes in the dark recess of my mind. Through perseverance light inches in. The movement of my body destroys the blinders that have been put upon me by countless foes who wish to keep me confined in their pressence of non existence. One glorious day i will break these chains to be unleashed upon this ravenous world. Nor longer will we be exiles. We shall stand upon the mountain as we were meant to be, Beasts, Forged by Iron.

This is the life i have chosen. Without it i would be dead, just waiting to be buried.

As I write this essay I wonder if I should even have the honor of wearing the same type of shirt worn by the godlike figures who stood in "The Cage". Even if I dont win this contest I am still thankful for having the oppourtunity to look into myself. You wanna know what Animal means brotha? Animal is the driving force behind everything I do in life. Its about being freakish...but humble at the same time. Its about making the world a better place through your actions and words. Its that inner drive that forces you to push out a few extra reps or an extra set or two. Its the unconsciousness that awakens when your in emotional disorder and need help. It is the world around me....Its everything. Whether it be eating, lifting, or breathing...Its all in the name of Animal. If I didnt have Animal, I would not have a place on this planet we call Earth. Some may ask why do you do this to yourself? And I reply with one word, "Animal".

Ever since I saw my my first Animal ad in a magazine I knew that this was the lifestyle for me. I went and visited the website and what can I say....I've been glued to this lifestyle ever since. You know what? Im a teenager I aint gonna lie bro'....But im not an ordinary teenager. Fortunetely for me I lead the Animal lifestyle and I couldnt wish for anything better. I am here to break the stereotype...I may be 17 but I dont even come close to touchin alcohol or any other drugs. My friends wanna hang out and do all sorts of useless shit on the weekends and what am I doin? Sitting home resting so my body can recover from a diesel workout I just had. And you know what? Ill keep bringing my damn oatmeal to school, ill keep bringing my damn eggs to class, and ill keep bringing my shitty chicken while im at it. While everybody sits around me and complains that my food smells and my teacher asks me "Why do you feel the need to eat in my classroom and not the cafeteria", I reply..."Cus I gotta do what I gotta do". This is Animal.

Animal to me is the most primitive, raw form of being. It is what is says it is, no-holds barred, balls to the wall, in everything you do. Whether it be in the weight room or in life, Animal is telling how it is, instead of telling it how it might be. Animal has taken my lifting to a whole new level, but most importantly, Animal has helped me to new life on the edge, experiencing everything that I could, without holding anything back, without having any regrets. "Animal" is the supreme being in my eyes.

Animal is not only a way of life, but my way of life. Being an Animal isnt about the hype, it's about dedication. It is about sticking to your goals and accomplishing them no matter what bullshit crosses your path. Ever since I recieved my Animal Pak manual in the mail, my life has been different. I still remember that day in highschool. That was 5 years ago. Ever since I have devoted my life to being an Animal. Sure I'm not the biggest guy in the gym, yet. But all joking aside, I love animal products, and i love the animal mentality. I'm so devoted to this lifestyle that I got the Animal A logo tattooed on my upper back, just to remind me of where I came from. Any day that I wake up and feel shitty, any day that I contemplate whether or not I should go hit the gym, I just fucking remember what I have engraved into my skin. So all in all, animal isnt just a fucking term, or product, it's a way of life, and it's my way of life. Gotta eat big and train hard. This hardcore, This is Animal, and Fuck Yeah I can handle it!

Animal has literally changed my life forever. It has taught me to Overcome all barriers that come my way, no matter what it is. Animal has picked me up from rock bottom, and I truly, with 100% of my heart believe that if I had not found the site, the forvm, and this amazing brotherhood, that I would be dead or in prison. Animal gave me something I desperately needed in my life-something to live for. It gave me a rebirthing. I won't lie, it makes my eyes moist when I think about where I was and where I am now. You will never know how much this shit has meant to me, words cannot explain my gratitude to Machine, Wrath, and everyone. For the first time I feel like I have a family, no shit. The people on this forvm are great, and they accepted me, even for my past, and encourage and support me, something I have never had in my life...Thank you Animal.

Life kicks you in the ass, and every time you get up out of the mud you receive another one that fucking propels you back into the dirt and shit that you just have gotten out of. Overcome the desire to quite and achieve the desirer to fight back, to stick it to the Man, your desire becomes your vision. You become dedicated to your desirer and vision to fight back and you will be able to keep going without with supreme intensity without looking back, you drive on and on and on. And with time you will develop honour, pride, and respect for this life; for yourself, and for others that have taken the same rocky road as you have. For me being an Animal is being able to say yea I achieved these goals and I have become a better person for it. I have started My Journey to be a true Animal. I have taken my first step on a long road of pain, tears, and blood to achieve my goal. I have a vision of myself and I have the desire to achieve, my desirer is so strong I would crawl if I couldn’t walk anymore, or would get someone to drag me down my road if I couldn’t crawl anymore either. The future of me being an Animal looks promising.

the dictionary defines an animal as any such living thing other than a human being. with this in mind, i would be classified as an animal. crazy, psychotic, determined, raw energy that explodes everyday, wheater in the gym or on the field. there is nomore human in this body. this body is just a shell of human with the heart and soul of an animal inside. no fear, no regrets, no pain, only determination to overcome any obstacle in my way. so, SHUT THE F... Animal is like Big Brother, that fucking eye in the sky that always seems to be watching over me and ready to get on my ass if i stray outside the lines. Whether its when i wake up and want to lay in bed all day, my Pak can is sitting on top of my dressor staring at me telling me to wake the fuck up. Or when i look in my fridge and want to eat that piece of cake, my M Stak is sitting on top of my fridge watching me ready to slap the shit out of me if i eat that cake. and lastly after being tired as hell after spending the whole day at school and trying to skip my workout, my Nitro is in my backpack ready to shove a boot up my ass if i miss this workout. no matter where i go Animal is watching me and making sure i get everything accomplished. Animal is a pain in the ass, but a pain i cant live without.

"Shut the fuck up and train". That quote says everything that a true Animal needs to know. Training your body, not only physically but mentally as well. Changing your life style from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Sacrifiysing everything to become what everybody else wants to be. It's balls to the walls training, making every single minute and every rep count. There is no bull shittin on the phone or flirting with the girls. Every minute in that gym is your time and no one elses. No distractions just destruction. Destroyin the mass that you have set before yourself. Whether you can move thousands of pounds of iron or just a few pounds. The love and brotherhood of the iron is what brings us all together. Having the mental ability to eat all the necessary nutrients that are essential to your growth and pushin your body beyond your limitations to one day achieve the status and physique of all who enter that CAGE every year. Everyone on this site is an Animal. We are all brought together for one common goal, to be the one thing that everyone dreams of becoming and that is an ANIMAL!!!!

What is Animal? If you have to ask you wouldnt understand. Animal is getting up at the ass crack of dawn, just to go put yourself thru hell and back and then straight back to hell. thats where animals hang out, we dont get to choose where and what we want to eat, its chicken, breast, tuna, rice, its eating six times a day whether you're hungry or not. Animal is walking thru the aisles of iron and getting the stares and glares, are they scared? are they envious? probably a little of both, but they dont have the balls or the heart to be an animal, they just want to watch YOU. watching your every move as you cast a shadow over the gym floor. Animal Is: LIFE, Animal Is: DEDICATION, Animal Is: HATE,LOVE,DESIRE ALL ROLLED INTO ONE. So take these words, let them fall across your eyes, and take evrything you feel, want, desire, and roll your ass into that gym with reckless abandon and assault everything you touch with the ferocity of an ANIMAL. Animal is......
your journey your definition starts here.

Animal.. what it means to me...

Being a Animal isn't about the hype or getting the body that is needed to get the ass. Sure these things come with the territory. Being a Animal to me makes tomorrow my reality. Makes me know that I can turn to the iron in my times of struggle. It makes me bust my ass. Harder and harder everytime I hit the gym. Being a Animal is when your body says no but your mind says "come on you little bitch push out those few extra reps!!". I love that feeling. Keeps my blood flowing. Gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Why am I a animal and what does it mean to me. It means everything to me.. without it there would be no me...I'd still be that kid that never had a chance. Ha proved them wrong...

ANIMAL: animal is not a choice..nor is it a hobby or trend...it is a way of life..a way of life that chooses you. Animal is strapping up everyday, kicking your own ass in gym, choking down shit thats not for its means of taste, but for its need to help you gain every ounce of rock solid, skin splitting muscle possible. Animal is a brotherhood and respect for those guys who walk around the gym and don't say a fucking word...you know they mean business..these are the men who don't need motivation from others, or attention for their efforts...their efforts are for themselves..the need to fuel that inner burn that never dies out....never.

Animal. At heart many know what it means but only few take it in... In this life there there is only blood, sweat and tears that must be forth to achieve what few have done. Its your desire, dedication and determination that seperates you from the rest of the pack and in knowing this, you stand alone. On your own free will, there is no stopping at any cost and regardless of what price you pay, you push forward. Singled out among many, inside you know there is a brotherhood, a family out there that believes as you do. We are brothers of iron and let all know that we are here to stay no matter what comes our way. For we are Animals...

I'm in the United States Army....People ask why do you do it?? Why do you risk it all....some kind of war junkie or what? And no matter how hard you try to explain, they don't get it....The same as why WE as ANIMALS but ourselves through the pain...the work.....the sweat...blood...They don't know the feeling of the cold steel, in the early morning, the feeling of the "pump" we all love. We walk tall and walk sideways through doorways, not because we are cocky but because we are ANIMALS. We share a brotherhood that only we understand and relate to. A lifestlye similar to a SOLDIER.. A lifestyle I would not change for anyone. THIS IS WHAT ANIMAL MEANS TO ME.

A man of iron doesn't talk about how much of a animal he is... he shows the world. Through his actions, people see what he is made of everyday. Words only take a fella so far, one can talk all he wants; talk is cheap.
Untill he gets his ass in that weight room and makes something of himself, he aint shit. Thats the way I see it, I ain't shit untill I do something. Even after I do it, if I didn't do it good enough, I ain't shit.
There is always someone bigger, thats a fact of life. But that doesn't mean that I can't throw my whole heart into this lifestyle; that doesn't give me the right to NOT train harder than the fella sitting next to me.
I know that If my desire is bad enough, I have to be willing to make sacrifices, I gotta be willing to wake my ass up at 5 o'clock every morning to get in that jog an that first meal. Even then that aint enough; I know that if I am only willing to do it, I will never reach my destiny. No, I have to WANT IT, I have to WANT IT more than the other guy, I have to WANT IT more than the fellas before me and I have to WANT IT more than the fellas that will come after, because deep down in the pit of this heart, my selfishness, my desire, my thirst, is animal.

I can not top any true lifters words in this forum, for we all know what it means to be an animal. An animal is one who wakes up at 4:30 in the morning, while half of the world is still asleep to endure the pains, and pleasures of lifting. Every man who steps into that gym, steps into a world of cold, for not many can understand what it means to be an animal.

Watching other people stare at you torture your body, taking it to the next level time after time, always progressing and never falling back is what it means to be an animal. To never give up, to push yourself forward and to just keep going is the way of the animal.

I live this way day after day, but i am no better than any other man on this forvm, i am an animal just like the rest of you, and dam proud to be one.

its not a meaning, its way of getting things done. Its a way to finish an endless journey of daily self "success", only to be broken down and critiqued in the chipped and hazy locker room miror and the end of every workout. Its pushing through the pain and pushing through the tears and ridicule that have haunted you for as long as you can remember. Being the shy, fat kid, you go through alot to find yourself and what your made of. Universal and Animalpak have helped me find that. I have been taking animalpak, shock therapy, storm, and frequenting the site for almost a year now. It has been an avenue of escape, a harsh reality, and welcomed friend in my life. I strap on my "Animal" beanie and I become just that. Im not the biggest kid in the gym, or even the strongest, but everyday when I walk through those doors, I put all the other bullshit aside and punish myself. I have been late for work, dates and family functions because I strive to be the best, I strive to be an animal. I get a look in my eyes and eveyone walks away, even my lifting "buddy" shuts his mouth and knows not to talk to me. Its my 1st job. Everything else in my life has come second. I have never been first in anyones life before so why should I start now? I have a mission. I have loved and lost because of my dedication. But my first true love is the sweat, chalk caluses, pain, and the pump that no woman or drug could ever give you. Its knowing that your tapping into that primative instict to "work to survive". And knowing if you don't get this last rep of your last set of military press up your skull is going to be crushed. Its knowing that no matter what, your working as hard as you can. Sexy gym clothes, fancy mp3 players, or new sneakers can't give you what you want. Its the internal drive, its the animal instinct that keeps me going. Thank you animalpak.

"Animal", according to dictionary.com defines an inhuman person; brutish or beastlike person. It is a superior category of man that only a few souls may reach at a certain point in their lives. It not only takes vigourous hard-core training, nor does it only require a diet that is more strict than your elementary school teacher. It sure damn requires a mental edge that puts you above the rest, a lifestyle that is so brutish and beastlike, it'll have you self proclaiming yourself the "king of the jungle" And after the trillions of repititions, billions of calories, and years of commitment, maybe then and only then can one consider himself an A N I M A L. This is what ANIMAL means to me and this is how ANIMAL motivates me to make the transformation.

To me Animal is diggin deep to be your best. What would possess someone to put their body through hours of pain and tortue at the gym day after day like we do? To eat the way we do? To get up at 1:00 in the morning to get a jump start on the next days training/cardio like we do? You gotta want something bad to put yourself through what we put ourselves through...that drive is Animal.

What does animal mean to me? Its pretty simple. When my friends call me animal (my nickname from college actually) they are showing a sign of respect. Because they know that I will strive to be the best. I will find where the line is drawn for my own limitations then I will give that little extra push to go beyond. They realize that to do this you have to be more than human. The average person has no idea what is involved to do this... the blood, sweat, and tears put into every little thing you do. So when someone calls me Animal... I know it really means Respect.

Well first of all let me start by saying that I was struggling to get my ass in the gym and work out to better myself. I was diagnossed as type two diabetic I was 267 lbs. I found the animal crew while googling workout routines. I read some articles by house that brother really helped me get the lead out and straighten up my eating and training. I went down to 187 lbs very heathy ,but now I am 230 20%bf I am 6'0 tall so my weight is now pretty stable I am in control of my life now. I can honestly say that it would not be without ANIMALPAK AND THE ANIMALS THANK YOU ALL.

I once tried to explain to my girlfriend why the Animal Pak website meant so much to me, and that explanation has not changed since I first offered it several months ago. In my mind, Animal combines several elements that are near and dear to my heart. The first and most obvious is clearly bodybuilding - this is the core of Animal and its primary purpose for existing in the first place. So rarely do I find anyone who shares my love for this sport that I revel in the opportunity to surround myself with like-minded people. And not just typical, run-of-the-mill meatheads, but individuals whose beliefs and philosophies so closely mirror my own that it reaffirms my sometimes dwindling hope of finding someone, ANYONE, who breathes the same affection for bodybuilding that I have for many years. I believe that bodybuilding has helped make me the person I am today, and I take comfort in knowing that there are others out there who have been as positively influenced as me.
I have long since held a great deal of admiration for the written word, and the sad truth is that the vast majority of bodybuilding publications - no, make that publications in general - do not convey a coherent mastery of the art of language. Their pieces are written so as to appeal to the lowest common denominator, and rarely require any type of dynamic thinking. In the Animal writings, I have found my saviors. The articles submitted by the various members of the Animal crew do more to elicit new thought than most of what I read during the 18 years I attended school. The Animals pour their hearts out for the simple purpose of enlightening those who have yet to walk the narrow and difficult path that is the bodybuilding lifestyle and to prove to those that have that they are not alone in their arduous journey. We as the readers would be hard pressed to find this type of motivation and inspiration anywhere else and for this, we are forever in their debt.
Finally, Animal creates its own world much in the same way that movies, television or even comic books do. These mediums are all of great interest to me for the simple reason that I truly enjoy a good story. Effective storytelling in any facet is a daunting task, and the Animal crew (both those in and out of the spotlight) has practically created its own universe, full of larger-than-life characters that embody everything positive about this sport. From the mentally and philosophically driven "Everyman" G Diesel, to the learned veterans known as Sgt. Rock and The Lad, to Animal's ultimate superhero and posterboy - the enigmatic Wrath, the Animals run the gamut in terms of their relationship to bodybuilding. The end result is a wide array of personalities that anyone interested in this sport can relate to.
Animal's greatest achievement in storytelling is "The Journey," a graphic novel brought to life by the winding inner-workings of Wrath's intricate psyche and the almost haunting images of his struggle to make a name for himself in this unforgiving life. Its comic-style shapshots and journal entries make it feel like a true "journey" as we follow Wrath into the oblivion. It is "The Journey" that has had the most profound impact on me because it reminds me that no matter how hard I think I'm working, no matter how much time I fear I might be wasting, no matter how alone I sometimes feel, there is always someone sharing the experience. I am not working hard enough, I am not wasting my time with this sport, and most importantly, I am NOT alone. When any story, true or otherwise, has this much affect on a person, it has surely been told well.
So this is why Animal means so much to me. It is such a perfect combination of so many things that I cherish that it is almost too good to be true. Thank you Animals, for supporting bodybuilding, for supporting creative writing, for supporting storytelling... and for supporting me. My day to day life would not be the same without all that you have done.
Peace.

Animal is the reason that, two days after my Grandpa's funeral, I hit the gym harder than I ever have in my entire life. It's a constant reminder that mediocrity is NEVER acceptable, and to give anything less than 100% is complete disrespect to those who don't have the ability to.

STRENGTH AND HONOR.

Animal.. Let me tell you something about that word..

I've been sitting here thinking about why it is so hard to be a brother of steel..

I now know, being a brother of steel is not hard.
People complain and talk about the hardships of lifting. Is it really that difficult? Look deep into the souls of lifters, and you'll see a fucking ANIMAL following it's instincts. Men were not created to be a small and helpless being who could not hold his own. Men were created with an instinct to beat the shit out of ourselves to work towards a greater self.

All of the brothers here are both metaphorically and literally an animal. We are viewed as beasts because we are the few who can accomplish the art of weightlifting both physically and mentally. We ARE animals because we simply follow our instincts that tell us to achieve physical greatness.

While writing this short essay, it all makes sense. The reason there are tools with the name Animal in front of it, such as Animal Pak, Animal Stak, and Animal Pump is so clear. There are tools specifically meant for savage beasts. Only animals can use these tools.

What does Animal mean to me? Animal describes a person who has taken up the art of lifting and follows his instincts. Animal describes both you, me, and all the brothers of steel. Unleash your bestial fury on the training you animals. Just follow that instinct.

Animal means going through the day to day paces in whatever vocation you are in to be able to enjoy the finer things in life. One of those is pushing iron. Animal is getting up at 0 dark 30 to hit the gym while the rest of your coworkers are still dreaming. Yuo, you live the dream. You hit it hard, heavy and give it all you got, 24/7. By doing so, your coworkers as they stumble in from their long nights sleep, look at you as though you are some kind of freak. You are. You are an Animal. You ive it and breath it everyday. Sure you're tired, hungry, thirsty. But you push on, you overcome. You do whatever it takes to return to your early morning ritual. You feel the pump, you feel the sweat. Your coworkers notice it, "look at the freak" they say behind your back. You don't care, you are Animal.

An Animal is someone who can push his envellope wisely, who can destroy his own limits in brutality and power while looking ahead to avoid pitfalls and always finding new ways to be great. For an animal there is no such thing as "Confort Zone", the only place where he belongs is in the realm of pain, willpower and improvement. The animal inside us is like the blacksmith forging his creation with strenght and power, it takes violence, power and patience to elevate something average into something great and beautiful some thing that people dreams of but never has the courage to build.

That how Animal helps me to dare pushing my limits and transforming myself into
the man I was born to be.

Simple. Animal means don't quit. Ever.

I don't care if it hurts, I don't care if I puke, get dizzy, see stars before my eyes.

Don't quit.

I don't care if you're tired of chicken, I don't care if you can't choke down another fµ˘kin' protein shake.

Don't quit.

I don't care if your thighs are on fire -- pour on the gasoline.

I don't care if you can't bend your arm to take a drink -- use a friggin' straw

I don't care if you can't sleep on your side without three pillows under your head because your shoulders are too wide.

DON'T FUCKIN' QUIT!

EVER!

Not till you're in the box.

What does Animal mean to me. Its ecompsses a lifestyle. Its physical from the love of the iron game. To punish your body to make it grow. It mental, it takes speical men to dedicate themselves to this game. From the dreaded cardio and low carbs to lifting crushing weight and staying motavated for long periods of time. Its spirutial. I know i put my soul into lifting. Many of us put our whole being into lifting and becoming better people. How did Animal help me. I found the website when I was in Iraq. The articles on lifting. Pumped me up so bad i could taste the iron and it still holds true today. The brotherhood i feel when i come here is unlike anywhere else besides with my fellow Marines. Thank you Animal and Universal for everything your have done to make us better people. And we return the favor by coming back for more and more info from the Animals here.

Animal:

Animal doesn't mean you lift the most weight in the gym. It doesn't mean you're the biggest guy in the weight room. Hell, it doesn't mean you lift at all. I know guys that are more Animal than 90% of the people that lift weights. These are the guys that wake up at 4:30 to go to work, bend rebar, pour concrete, lay asphalt, and dig trenches, just to put food on the table, then get in the car covered in mud, silt, dust, and dirt and drive home to their families. They spend time with their families and help their kids with homework, play with them, anything, after a 12 hour ball-buster of a day, knowing full well they will do it again tomorrow. They are also the men and women serving in Iraq and around the world. People that put their lives on the line 24 hours a day, not for themselves, but for those of us back in the USA. They are the ones that allow us to beat ourselves to a bloodly pulp everyday in the weight room; the ones that redefine the word "Animal". Those of us on this forum are Animals because of the "war" we fight with the weights and our own limitations daily. We set goals, and stop at nothing to achieve them. We give up the "good" life of partying and no responsibility, to go for the GREAT life we desire. The life that consists of shadows, people questioning us, and trying to belittle our ambitions. We will kick at the darkness, until it bleeds daylight.

Animal, what does it mean to me.
Well, I am going a different direction.
Animal describes my wifes attitude to a T.
She is the one who is up EVERY morning during the week at 4:30am, dragging me out of bed to hit the gym.
She gives it everything she's got, every workout, and expects nothing less from others. She is that way in her job as well as her personal hobbies, ALWAYS striving to be the best she can be. She pushes me to be my best and kicks my ass when I slack, even a little.
The animal ads are by far her favorite and she loves her "shut up and train" and "I'm not here to talk" shirts.
I love my animal to death and know that without her I would not be half the animal I am today.
"4:27 am... Why Am I Here?" Because my animal wants me to be my best.

Many years ago i was 'the other guy'. i was the lazy, out of shape guy that had every excuse in the book why i shouldn't/couldn't workout. i made fun of the guys that were off to the gym when i was ready to go get hammered; why bother? as the years have progressed, i too have evolved. once i was a boy, i am now a man, and have had life bitch slap me enough to gain some focus and respect, the two elements that define the Animal.
about a year ago i was flipping through a Flex magazine and came across a gigantic dude with a weight chained around his waist. it caught my eyes cuz it was all black and white, no spandex, no glitter; shit it wasn't even in colour. the guy looked real, looked like he had paid his dues over the years, and would not except anything but the best from himself. reading the caption, it contained words of wisdom...and the promise of more on a webpage. i was intrigued. i bought the mag and went home to the computer. i spent hours upon hours reading the words of wisdom from guys with names like Wrath, Machine, The House and G Diesel. it changed my life. i went out the next day and bought a bench and weights, and slowly have changed my body into something respectable. the words of these guys, along with the humility learned by the iron have made me respectable. a year later, i am in complete control of my destiny, i am rock solid in the man that i am. i have built a body that is decent, but has many miles and years to build upon. i would be honoured and proud to wear the Animal shirt as a daily reminder to keep it real, to pay my dues, to pay respect to the guys that showed me the way.

What Animal means to me,Being an Animal is the greatest humbler in sports. When you put the lifting, dieting, cardio in and look great, you know that there is no one else to thank but yourself. The flip side is that, if you look like crap you have no one to blame but yourself. It was your choice not to make the sacrifices it takes to have a better body. Being an Animal is not about whom you are better than on a single day or if you got a lucky bounce with a ball that leads to a victory. It is about being better then you were yesterday but not as good as tomorrow. It allows you to see the hard work everyday in the mirror at any time and not as some pre-determined planned contest on a field. There are no flukes in being an Animal; you can’t win because you’re lucky. You win because you’re good.

Animal to me, breaks down to the basics. Your 5 senses.

The sound of plates crashing together as you lock out on a squat.

The sight of stretch marks and veins rippling down your arms.

The taste of sweat and blood after you break a new personal record on deads.

The smell of dust and dirt when you're picking yourself up off the floor after a heavy squat session.

And of course the feel of cold, unforgiving steel in your hands.

I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Animal is being the one to blaze the trail and not to follow it.
Animal means following your heart and dreams and trusting your gut and having the understanding that you won't always be understood and you should never let it stop you from moving towards and reaching your goals.
Animal is knowing that your opinion of yourself is more important than what others think of you. People are going to think what they want. You have NO control over that. Opinions are like assholes..everybody has one.

These are the things I remember as I regularly hit the gym, follow my diet, get my rest, and move towards my goals. It takes pressure to make a diamond...

What does it mean to be an animal?

To be an animal is to give in to carnal desire, to devote every waking moment to the pursuit of a singular goal. As an animal I must train my focus to my goal and attack it relentlessly. Everyday...There is no time to rest...The pain is proof of the prize.

Animal- an inhuman person; brutish or beastlike ; goes beyond what is fathomable .... Isnt it funny how letters fit so perfectly together to create words, and how those words fit so perfectly together to create senteces. But without anyone of those letters in the word, the sentence then falls apart. This is the same concept that rules life, but not just any life... a life that few of us in this world actually come to comprehend and choose to live. Its a life that in which many sacrifices must be made to overcome your journey. If your reading this it means you have been reborn and have been shown that you can push the the envolope of your genetics, and prove the sky is the limit for those who seize the oppertunity. As for myself I believe limits are for those who are one word shy of a sentence...............and this brothers is what Animal means to me

What is Animal?

Animal is so much more than a brand, a product, or a supplement. Animal is an attitude, a philosophy, a way of life.

An Animal is the Nemesis you always strive to beat. We’re the ones that do what others are unwilling to even attempt. We’re not satisfied with being good; we strive to be great, to be the biggest, the best, and the baddest at everything we do.

You can find an Animal in every gym, every locker room, there’s at least one on every team. The overachiever, the determined and driven fanatic that can not be denied. We’re the first ones in the gym or on the field; and we’re the last to leave. We’re the adrenaline junkies that live for the moment when we can show what we’re made of and pay tribute to the Gods.

We’re the proud freaks, the monstrosities, the miscreants. The ones that demand your attention as soon as we walk in the room. You can tell an Animal by the way they walk, the way they talk, the way they work and play, and most importantly, the way they live.

We rise to the challenge; it calls our name. We like the road less traveled, the path that’s ridden with dangerous obstacles and immovable stones. We’re the 1% of the population that just doesn’t fit within the rest of society’s limitations.

Fire breathing dragons, sharks in the water, a coiled and poisonous snake, the crazed pit-bull hungry for more. The unsung heroes that work as hard as we do because it’s all we know. We find honesty and humility in the pain. We find honor in a hard day’s work. We see glory in conquering our fears, and overcoming all obstacles. We don’t make excuses, we just get it done. We do whatever it takes, day after day and time after time.

Animal is Perseverance. Animal is a Brotherhood that knows no boundaries. Animal is the way our mind works, the way our body looks, the sweat on our brow, the tear in our eye, the blood on our hands. Animals heed the call. Animals defy the laws of man. Animals Strive for more. Animals LIVE every moment.

Animal is Hardcore.
Animal is Everywhere.
Animals Never Quit.
Animals Never Die.

Are you Animal?

An ANIMAL means waking up at 5:30 to lift while your roommates sleep, and after your shower and meal going to 17 hours in college, and working on top of that. An Animal wants to be stared at, envied, lusted after. and wanting people to tell you, you are too big, too obsessed.. i call it in love. In love with the iron, in love with the nasty smell of the gym, in love with the girl who puts up with all the troubles for me to be the animal. The animal will be me, even if i have to die to get it.

Animal: A bodybuilder who has it all figured out, dedicated, has one mission at a time and sticks too it no matter what the opposition. Uses the mirror not the scale, doesnt eat for taste, eats for fuel, craves to be the leader of the pack. I am an animal, my stretch marks prove it, 3 cans of tuna everyday for years locks it in, doing legs on friday so i cant walk all weekend is what animal is all about. I'm not here to talk so shut up and squat!

The Animal is a soldier of iron not afraid to do battle or go the distance. One who never makes excuses, he puts the gym first. He trains in a dungeon late at night or early while the average people sleep. He trains through the pain , the low calories and the girlfriend's bitching. He displays the A on his body proudly like his medal. His cuts on his shins from heavy deads and the callous on his neck from heavy squats are his battle scars. These traits became me MuscleCop. I do battle everyday on the streets and in the gym. Maintaining my animal instinct. The animal is the last known survivor. Desire, Dedication and Determination.

My english ain't that good... so I won't use any bombastic stuff... I'll just get straight to the point:

I was a very depressed teenager growing up and I had always thought about suicide. I felt that I was born as a second grade human and I did not deserve anything. I was always pushed around and I would get beat up pretty often in high school by my 'friends'. I was the 'bitch' of the group. It affected me pretty badly and I tried sooo fuckin' hard to fit in and stuff. Imagine waking up every morning with that sick feeling in your gut, with all those suicidal thoughts in your head. I couldn't find peace in my mind and my soul... I was really lost and eventually I got myself into a deeper shithole with drugs and stuff. I hate to look at myself in the mirror. This went on for years my friends.

One day I decided to try exercising to get stronger cause I hated the feeling of being weak... I did that for a year without any significant results and still felt weak and stuff externally and internally. Six months ago, I discovered Animal and my life turned around. I found the confidence that I've been searching for so long and now I have a goal in my life. I feel that I deserve to be alive... and I deserve the best! Now I can carry myself with alot of dignity, strength and honor. Animal help made a better person outta myself. To me, being an Animal doesn't really matter how much one can lift, being an Animal thought me the most important thing ever... how to love oneself and with hardwork and dedication ANYTHING can be achieved.

Oh yeah... I don't feel lonely anymore. Now anytime I walk down a street or whatever... I feel as if I have the Brotherhood behind my back... and that really means alot to me.

thanks for reading.

To be a true animal you don't have to be the most genetically gifted person. FUck most of us aren't by any means. You just go balls to the wall in every workout you have. Tee pain you felt at first is something you love now, can't get enough of it. Each day is a new day to grow to your fullest potential. You do a squating workout so intense you fill up an entire garbage can. If an outsider saw these words he wouldn't understand because outsiders don't. They don't know what kind of insane and instense world animals live in. Being animal is being part of this fuckin' family on this forum. Any advice we ever need is right here. We are bonded together by pieces of iron. But this intense life we live is an everyday thing. Looking at each day as another day to be the best at what we fuckin' do. That's what being a true animal is all about.

To me animal isn't just a product. it isn't just a logo. it isn't just another poster on my wall. to me it's a way of improvement. it's thje new way that my wife looks at me now. it's way that my son looks at me while I'm working out. Animal is awe inspiring. Even on my "days off" it is pulsing through my body. Animal is the what I see in the mirror when I walk by. Animal is my lifestyle... and my reflection. Animal is me.

to me, Animal....its a way of life. its not someting you do, or say, or can even discribe. I am....an Animal. It's funny. My lifting partner's old lifting partner has come back into the picture. He has been lifting with us for about a month now,(part Time). He made a comment the other day, "come on Animal" on my last rep on curls. "God damn, you are a Animal. We were calling ourselves Animals before you came along and started wearing that Animal stuff." I just laughed, walked away and said,"Its a way of life brother, I am an Animal, wooooo." This is a brother hood and brothers look out for each other. When I first started lifting I thought, "this is bull shit, I'm gonna quit"...Then a co-worker turned me onto the Animal web site. The mentality brought back my old mma days and attitude..I read EVERYTHING I could get my hands on, started using the supps, started using the attitude, Machine, House, Wrath. My heros. You made me feel at home and not alone. (House even e-mailed me back about some nasty shake he thought up.) You dont get that on other webs. 2 years later, now we have the forum, Toni, big ant, Ironleague, Freakshow, Vinny, Big Jawn... you all, are an insperation. I'm still here, and your not getting rid of me anytime soon. I am....an Animal.

One more Breath, one more bloody chalked up callus, one last taste of the utmost disgusting sense of “that it’s never enough”. From the countless pounds to the blood boiling sets. Even though you are done you are never truly finished. For every feeling of distain and abandonment, you like it better that way, and the sense of how could anyone possibly want this more than you. You strive knowing that you will never succeed, not at their goals those already have been surpassed, but your own and that nothing will completely make you satisfied until the animal has been awaken in your soul and only wants more push one more squeeze just one. You are not here for them or the others that think they want it, you are there for what has dug its fangs inside of you to release and only the animal in you can set that free. Finally when it is all said and done at the end of the day when you just can’t quit not only for yourself but the Animal inside you will not quit it is not an option.

Animal means dedication. It's getting off your dead ass when you just finished up 16 hours of work and you know you have to be back in 6. or when your supposed lifting buddy calls you with ten reasons why he wants to stay overweight the rest of his life. So, wether I'm feeling like shit or not I'll be the one under the poundage trying for that last rep. I am dedicated, I am an Animal.

This Commitment; this Lifestyle; this Animal; this Journey is a path I have chosen to tread, albeit, the path is still shadowed in my site. I have read through countless threads and posts; routines, motivations, frustrations, triumphs, thoughts, and philosophies, to perhaps gain a clairvoyance into the minds of this Brotherhood and attempt to understand just an enth of what this Journey is about. I know full well that I must fabricate from the undeveloped Iron in my mind a template; a template of Animal.

"To get to it, you'd need to cut away all the layers of doubt and distraction till knife hits the bone.... Find that itch.... Scratch till there's nothing there." - Wrath; Week 13, "The Journey"

The Journey is singular physically; one Man, one Focus, one Animal; to become "The One."

Mentally, the Journey is mutifold. It is not only the colossal weight of Iron hoisted upon broad shoulders but the deafening weight of those who would Deny, Disbelieve, Depreciate, Disparage, and ultimately, Dread the Journey.

"This lifestyle of ours provides shelter from the storm.... Life can fucking beat the living shit out of you if you let it. But no latter what shit sandwich you get served, it is no doubt a blessing to have the structure and the comfort of routine that bodybuilding provides." - G. Diesel; Entry #3, "Diary of a Madman."

A cold steel bar now finds life in the grip of my fists, not the empty grip of a pistol. Tendons and joints, now the hammer, cocked and ready to fire. Muscle becomes the trigger in which I fire, BOOM! One rep, BOOM! Two reps, BOOM! Three reps, BOOM!; until I, the clip, am empty. I will not be wasted with one shot; I will reload.

My reflection is not distorted or muddied up above the flowing currents of the Missouri River. It is crystal clear, looking straight back at me as I stand ready in the Cage. I do not fear the plunge, although the weight on my shoulders is great, because I now defy gravity; I will return to the surface. I inhale; plunge, one rep; after plunge, two reps; after plunge, three reps; plunge, until I am baptised in my own sweat, the rapids in my legs at full force. Now I am the bridge standing strong and tall over raging waters.

Because of the inspirational words of a few, and the unwavoring support of the thousands of the Men and Women of Animalpak.com, I can say with Pride; I am Alive, I am Honored, I am Animal.

Respect.

Animal....It's not about what it is, it's about what it's done....Going from 270lbs to 205lbs and learning more about myself than I ever thought possible, mentally and physically...Words just cannot describe it....THANKS

Animal to me is an inspiration.. it's a brotherhood. Animal is a way of life that few choose and even fewer embrace and stick with. For me it's the only way, I'm bound to this life.

Animal is pure motivation, it's no bullshit.. Animal is bold, it's hardcore, Animal is all about blood, sweat, and tears. Animal is old school training, dedication, desire, and DRIVE.

Animal to me is a higher level, it's that dream I have when I wake in the middle of the night in goose bumps...standing under the hot lights holding my overall trophy. It's the group of Pros that are here for us like older brothers, feeding us with information and leading us in the right direction...without a bullshit sugar coat.

Animal is the line that seperates me.....from them. I'm proud to stand on the other side of the line with all of you....

Respect,
IronLeague

Being apart of the legion means the world to me.. I've just recently moved from my home town where I lived there 24 years... From the south to the west coast in Cali.... I'm out here to finish up school and I almost gave up living out here cause of me meeting people.. People out here are different for me.. All I do is go to the gym and school. But then Universal Rep at BB.com turned me on to the Forvm... And it amazes me that people here are just like me... Here people understand me. Its about the Iron... Even though I've changed places where I live, People are different, the lifestyle is different... Something remains the same.. its the iron.. Its the other animals that understand you. Its a brotherhood. Its a lifestyle. Its animal

To be Beaten down by life like a dirty stray dog only to stand up on your feet, eyes glazed from pain and ask "Is that all you got?"
To hold true in your heart your beliefs and values and stand unflinching in the face of fear and hurt.
To keep plowing forward even though it's storming all around you and the chips are stacked high.
To follow your heart, not the world.
To realize it's a cold, dark, hateful world out there and still find the will to love.
To choose your own path which is long and unbeaten and love every fucking mud drudging step of it.

This was stright from my soul.

Animal means so much.,when i was trying to drop weight.,and improve my life,no one stood beside me.When i completed my first rep,no one was there. When after a heavy set.,i would puke outside, once again no one there.Pretty much iam a loner, never had anyone to stand beside me,push me,ive done it all on my own,and its made me a better man.but sometimes you need help. Now i feel like i have a home.Even tho i dont know many of you,i feel like apart of here.Thats what Animal means to me,.,for once in my life,.i have help,a place to turn for answers ,where i dont feel like a dumbass for askin them.Thank you all for making me feel welcome.

Guys, PM me with your full name and address. Now, remember it will take some time to get these shirts embroidered. We'll have 'em personally embroidered with your forum name and then they'll be sent right out to ya.

Hey Animals,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for the kind words and say that it is an honor to have been chosen. The best part about this contest is that it gave everyone a chance to pay homage to Animal in their own way. After seeing all of the heartfelt responses to this contest, it just reaffirms the fact that we are all part of a very unique brotherhood and that we should cherish every second of it. Animalpak.com has given all of us a place to call our own and a chance to come together for a greater common purpose. Without the ENTIRE Animal crew, none of this would be possible, so many thanks to each and every one of them (particularly Universal Rep for organizing this contest). I promise to wear this shirt with pride and to do my best to represent Animal to the fullest. I look forward to meeting many members of The Legion at the Olympia this year... you know what I'll be wearing.
Peace
