I train at a gold gym in northern NJ (hacketstown). It's an awesome gym, but obviously no mono-lift or anything geared towards power lifting.
Does anybody else train in this area?
Try Skiba's Gym. Never trained there and I don't know how far they are from you but they seem to be 100% legit based upon his article on the front page about training the novice lifter.

I got to train at skibas 2 weeks ago for a deadlfit workout and wow it was awesome.
The atmosphere was great, can't wait to go there more over the summer
In addition to Skibas, there is also Strong And shapely gym in Rutherford. There is a monolift, platform, specialty bars, dumbells up to 250 and a competition bench. Plus a reverse hyper and just about every piece of equipment that you can imagine (and some that you can't).
