Yeah, I know, another one of those threads. Anyways, I've been doing some sort of 5 ex 3x10 scheme for a while now. (2 flat or slight decline exes, 2 incline exes, 1 finishing flat ex usually flyes or cables)
Its just time to change it up a little and I'm thinking of mixing it up with a partial 5x5, say
5x5 bench
5x5 inc bench
3x8-10 (some flat ex)
3x8-10 (some inc ex)
3x8-10 flyes/cables/etc
Any obvious problems with a layout like this?
I realize that technically going from 15 sets to 19 sounds like a jump, but I figure the 5x5 are 25 more intense reps replacing 30 less intense reps so at the end of the day my total volume kind of balances.
