Tired of eating them plain, anybody have any good recipes or sauces?

Chicken is the cheapest source of protein I can buy, so it's basically all I eat for protein.

Cook it in a crock pot all day (8 hours is what it takes for mine to get done) and then shred it up ( I use 2 forks) than stir in a bottle of jack daniels bbq sauce. 8oz of that and 2 cups of rice are awesome

Nice. I've been eating chicken breast for the last 3 or so months, I rarely eat redmeat or turkey(once every month). life of a broke senior.

Go to Walmart around 9am and all beef is marked down. Just got 10lbs of 90/20 for 25$

Hey Lone Wolf, I just bake my chicken plain and then add a tbsp or 2 of franks hot sauce/calorie free BBQ sauce to whatever amount of chx I'm going to eat for that meal. That seems to work for me bc I can't stand plain chx breast any more as well.

Crock pot idea but instead of BBQ use Franks, Texas Petes, or even better the generic stuff that Kroger etc carry. I use their spicy garlic and it's amazing, and costs way less than BW3, or anything like that.

Also, check into Chicken Thighs, even cheaper, little more fat, but usually 1.00 per lb cheaper.

I get the Gold 'n Plump leg quarters for $2.99-3.99 for a 5 lb package!

If I hit Kroger just right they have whole quarters(breast and leg) for .99 a lb PRESEASONED! BOOM, all I do is fire up the smoker and hit those for 4-5 hours at 220-240 and done. So moist and the skin crisps just enough.

But yeah, Costco is 2.99 a lb for breast, 2.99 for tenderloins from breast, or 1.99 a lb for thighs. I had been using breasts but figure with the kid almost here it's time to save that 1.00 a lb and get the thighs.
