View Full Version : The Force of My Creation
It presses down on me to a point I can hardly bear, and I fight it away time and time again. It is an inferno I throw myself into willingly to forge myself so that I may be beaten into this form. No other way will do. Where the will of others breaks is where mine just begins to strengthen. Others may beg for mercy and seek shelter and comfort I endure the battle conquering my adversaries. Brother iron and sister steel remind me that each battle is important to the war and to the victor goes the spoils. Sacrifice for the greater good knowing the difference that one decision makes. Being determined come hell or high water to overcome to take the weight that crushes others and use it to harden myself. For those of you who don't get it you never will for those who do you will never forget. Lift big get big.

Dig it.
I used to use the war rhetoric and battle symbolism too when speaking of the iron. Now I feel like the gym might not be worthy of most life and death imagery. It is an amazing, important part of my life that involves struggle, but ask real soldiers about war. That's not criticism, just my more recent take.
I do believe that our lives can at times resemble war, but the weights, at their best and worst, should be fun.
Peace, G

Once a Marine always a Marine. Serving has taught me one thing the only war that can truly be won is the one against yourself. The struggle is very well understood. I don't take it as criticism more relieving. At least someone would try to speak for us.

I know the battle of which you speak very well. I fight it tooth and nail every day, in every aspect of my life.
Just want you to know that some civilians out here think before we trivialize the realities of war.
