Name is Tyler Priest and I am 22 years old. I am in the U.S. Army and been powerlifting for about three years. Been a rough road for training because of my schedule but things are changing and I am hoping this will help me up my game. Competed about 4 times or so now. Been running CUBE for about 6 months or so and think it is an awesome program. I plan on staying with this style of training for now. Hoping to get a lot from this section and the Animal FORVM altogether. Thanks for reading.

Back raises

Felt like a solid day. Been focusing on keeping a solid back. I tend to have some mid to upper back rounding which is not a big issue but I would like to fix it. I have been hitting some solid higher reps sets after the heavier stuff to help me maybe fix it.

It was a mid range day for bench. Tried to be really explosive and get some strong pauses in most sets. Using 325 as my max but I think I could hit a few more pounds so I may raise it so my percentages feel right.

GYM closes early on weekends on post so I had to cut a few of the accessory workouts. But another decent day. Had a full day of training yesterday that consisted of a decent amount of strongman type stuff so I was pretty worn out from that. Getting up to anything above 400 starts to spark the injury in both legs. Don't know what it is exactly(neither does the Physical Therapist) but I'm actively trying to fix it.

Ran 1 Mile at like 7:40ish. Mile times have been getting slower due to the fact that running sucks and I don't do it. Who would have thought.


Accessory days are always somewhat random. Almost always have OHP in there and some back stuff. Then It is just what I feel like I am lacking on. This was the second time I have really messed with Klokov Presses also. Felt great. Very different than what I am used to.

Felt good coming into the gym today. Once I got to 405 everything felt a lot heavier than normal. I would like to think it was because I hadn't eaten much and been up all day. But I am just trying to give myself excuses. Disappointing how it went in all. Need to work on my pull technique a ton too. Hoping next week will be better for deads.

Another good day I think. My bench sucks pretty bad but I am slowly making improvement which I am fine with. try to keep my rep ranges the same for each particular exercise of the day but some were just out of whack today. Happy with training for the day.

Resetting after every rep has been killing me. But I am hoping by revamping my deadlift it will help in the long run. I am tired of doing multi rep sets and bouncing the weight off the floor and sacrificing form.

Thanks a ton bro. Same goes with you. You have been putting up some big numbers. I get out in a few months then I can dedicate more time to training. Hopefully see some big jumps.
