I'd really add that the best thing girls can do is to buy fractional weights for minimal increases in poundage. A girl I train has gone from benching 120 @ 126 bw to benching 209 @ 115 in a meet in 17 months by basically just focusing on doing lots of volume at ever-so-slightly increasing poundages. While arching works very well for her, she also has adapted a very good technique along the way

A girl I train has gone from benching 120 @ 126 bw to benching 209 @ 115 in a meet in 17 months by basically just focusing on doing lots of volume at ever-so-slightly increasing poundages. While arching works very well for her, she also has adapted a very good technique along the way

That is a fantastic improvement. And shows that woman can make noticable increases with time and small jumps.
