This is my first thread here. This is one day after I competed out at Super Training Gym in Sacramento, California. Unfortunately, I missed my 1019 lb. squat on my second attempt. Opened up with 942 and jumped to 1019 for my second attempt. I was able to squat the weight, but I took a step backwards, which negated the lift. This was the second time I missed a competition record squat, which is very frustrating. I also tore my quad, minor tear hopefully. So I could not take a third. My body weight was 350.5 pounds. Back to reps for a couple weeks and then find another meet. Leading up to the meet my best gym lifts for this cycle was 1037 squat, 600 bench, 750 dead lift. I'll be posting my training logs starting at the end of the week.

Im glad to be part of the team. I appreciate it man. I saw your last meet video that was very impressive. Your 750 was solid without wraps. I have seen your videos before. You have really good squat form and have great ankle flexibility. You can really push your knees out, which is important, especially when squatting without wraps.

Yup, apparently only after just 14 months of powerliftin and here he is knockin on the door of the all-time WR squat... Pretty insane. All I know is, itll be great to see the two Animals set the bar higher in the squat, DK and Malanichev...

The CAGE 2015... Malanichev vs. Kendall. That could be epical. Or magical. Or epigical.

That would be a blast! Malanichev is the best squatter in the world and he is not even close to his raw potential. I have never seen someone make a lift so effortless. Great power lifters, like him, always make the lift look easy and never grind it out.

Haha thanks man, you me and me both. My momentum just forced me back just the slightest and made me take one step backwards. But it is a lesson leaned and Ill work more on stabilizing myself me next meet prep cycle.

3 days after my last competition I had my first workout. My quad is doing better, but I still can't bend my leg all the way back. I decided to start my bench routine back up. I am still trying to keep the weights at 90% plus in the hope that I can compete again in the next month or so if my quad heals up. I wont squat again for another week and then ill base my numbers off how it responds.

Thanks man, I bench mostly with my shoulders and triceps so the stronger they get the stronger my bench is. My chest has always hard a hard time growing even when I was bodybuilding.

We all see videos and pictures of you lifting but for those who haven't met you properly, how big are you? Like how big are your arms, chest, legs,etc? May seem like an odd question. But we just wana know more about you. ;)

Im 6 feet weigh around 345 pounds.

I never really measured myself before. When I was bodybuilding my measurements were much bigger though, now I barely ever do arms.

I appreciate it man. That meet prep took alot out of me though. Im hoping to start squatting next month and rebuild a base. It was awesome watching you lift at RUM man. You are shredded and strong, which is hard to do. Its alot easier lifting when you have more fat, believe I know. I did a 308 meet last summer, but it was like I was doing a bodybuilding diet. Much respect bro.

I have had no quad pain, which is a good sign. Going to roll with 10s a couple more weeks and then start with some heavy squats.

Haha Im hoping to work back up to 700 x 10. I have done 700 for 11 in knee sleeves, but it was a downset and in a mono. Walking it out is alot different now that I am actually doing it. Plus it kicks my butt and gets my conditioning and endurance back fast. Doing singles isnt the same as reps.

Thanks bro and i have been checking out ur videos too. Making some big noise u might be a 308er if u keep getting bigger! Yeah hopefully uspf meet in chicago in October. Starting 8s this week so ill start cranking up the weights and lowering the reps. Ill b competing at 308 this meet.

Deadlift workout played around with sumo and conveniental. Tore my other lat a couple of montgs ads go. Not as bad as the tear before RUM. But im not gonna roll the bar anymore.

Sumo 495 for multiple singles

Conventional 565 for multiple singles.

Work in progress gonna make small jumps and hopefully get back into the 700s again soon.

What programming would you give to a beginner like a 315 squat. 225 front squat. 255 bench. 440 deadlift. That's wants to progressively get stronger for an offseason.

What programming would you give to a beginner like a 315 squat. 225 front squat. 255 bench. 440 deadlift. That's wants to progressively get stronger for an offseason.

Lots of reps!!! The only way to increase your strength is my increasing your muscle mass. Stick with 10, 8 and 5s and cycle through them. And always remember to do your accessory work. Most important muscles are sometimes the smallest ones. And just keep at it. The strength will come as you add more muscle. Good luck bro;)

I am a bigger guy (295 @ 6') and find that I will restrict quite a bit of circulation and if I leave them on inbetween sets, ill get an occlusion effect in my forearms and hands. I'm using the 12" ones I believe.

I have no idea what size they are, but ill let you know. I don't wear them inbetween sets usually just for my working sets. They are tight, but not restricting. Just a little more support.

How do you have it set up just by feel each week or percentage of your max or goal max is ?

Yall are monsters man... i did have a quick question about you linear training.

How do you have it set up just by feel each week or percentage of your max or goal max is ?

But keep the videos coming very entertaining seeing the crazy weights you throw around!!!

Thanks bro! Eric is on a whole other level though. Im not big into percentages. Ill gage the numbers for the next workout by how the previous workout was. Ill keep the jumps consistent usually. I dont wanna grind or burnout. Linear periodization works best when you hit all your numbers. When I was not doing linear I would just do max reps sets of 5s, 3s, and 1s. You should have an idea of what jumps you can make and when you can push the numbers closer to the meet.

I have been working on my front squat lately after having not even trying to do them in like 2 years. They suck, I hate it them, but my theory is if I do the things I suck at in the gym I will get more benefit from them. That being said I was front squatting a measly 345 for a few reps on the weekend (which was painful), came home and then watched your 823 front squat... insane. I think it hurt more watching that then my own front did ha.

Thanks man I actually feel more comfortable doing them than back squats. It's probably hard because the bar placement but once u get use to it you will not have to think about the balancing of it.

Just recently competed this past weekend in a bench only meet. I went 540, 579, and 617 for an 11 pound meet pr. After the Arnold time to get back and get on schedule and ditch the wraps and do a no wrap cycle again.
