Hey guys, this is a video of me hitting 495 on a low bar squat. I'm a complete beginner at this movement, and have been high bar squatting since I started a little over a year ago. Any advice on bettering my form would be awesome.

Thats looks pretty good man. Watch my big on basics video for a few pointers that hopefully help. Squat shoes might also help you get a little bit deeper, not that you were high…but they'll help you get deeper more comfortably, i.e. tighter back/pelvis at bottom position.

Thanks, Jay! I'm gonna go check it out right now. Also, since I originally posted the video I bought some squat shoes and I'm in the process of breaking them in; I feel like they are in fact helping with depth.

For sure the almost always help people. There are the few who use squat shoes and it forces their knees forward too much developing knee pains, but they seem to be rarer cases.
