6/25/14 - Received my package today from the Animal. Let me introduce little bit about myself, I am currently training for my first powerlifter meet in August 16th in IL for USPA fed. Been training for less than a year. I train 5-6 times a week based on my own research of program. I will be posting how I approach this product on my Instagram(leoalphapowerlifter (www.instagram.com/leoalphapowerlifter)) and Facebook(Barbell Playground (www.barbellplayground.com)). If you have any question or suggestion for you, feel free to ask.

I am going to have mock meet this coming up Thursday so I will put that number down ASAP.

Which flavor should I try first?

Flavor 1: The color is purple and smells like grape to me
Flavor 2: Orange color and definitely orange smell

Today is the day, last PR day before my first powerlifting meet. My choice of flavor today was flavor 2. The yellowish orange color one. It recommended less than a scoop with 10-12 oz of water, but I took it with 20 oz with full scoop for intra workout. It tasted like orange juiceish. First I thought it would be watered down since I put more water and less scoop than it preferred amount, but it tasted solid. Did not taste any water-downed, it was perfect taste for me. I have been training with program for 6 weeks since my first PR. I will put down my progress of my numbers since first PR on May.

May 3-4@bw181
Squat - 385lb
Bench Press - 275lb (competition style w/ pause)
Deadlift - 425lb (w/ terrible form)

June 26@bw187
Squat - 405lb (went to 425lb right away and failed but did not try)
Bench Press - 295lb (In May, 295lb was possible with touch and go but not pause)
Deadlift - Doing it tomorrow

I will be posting my videos soon on my Instagram after I check my form and get critique on my form from you guys. So feel free to leave any comment and suggestion for me.

After going with flavor 2, the orange flavor, I think it helped me enough to make short rest time between the max attempts. In May, I had to rest at least 20-30 mins to recovery fully with the water. With it, it helped to decrease time to 10-15 min between the attempts. I was sipping it right after I lifted. Tasted full flavor in my mouth. For tomorrow, I am thinking if I should try same amount with flavor 1 or do two scoop with same amount today with same flavor to see the stronger taste(?). Let me know what you guys think I should do.



A. Try same amount with the flavor 1
B. Try same amount with same flavor 2, but make it 2 scoops instead of 1

I'd be curious to see how B works for you--the full flavor. You could always water down if you find it too strong. But I'm curious to hear how the 2 scoops in 20 oz goes for you.

Someone suggested me I should stick with one scoop for it so I can take it longer. So today I went with same scoop same amount for my deadlift party.

Deadlifting in the friday morning is the hardest workout IMO. But I was hitting PR for my deadlift, which was my weakest lift. I have been stuck in 405-425lb PR for 4 months now with no progress. But I been focusing on my form a lot. But before heading to gym, I packed my Project A with me. Yesterday hitting squat and bench press PR with that stuff was amazing. So I went with same as yesterday, one scoop with 20oz of water in my Animal shaker. So here it how it went:

Deadlift

Still I want to count the last one as well. Just need to clean it out on the form. Went 535 after and lifted like 1 inch and failed. But the Project A has made me gain 90 PR on my deadlift. Good stuff.

Back at gym with Project A after two full day of rest day after my Max attempt on thursday and friday. Took one scoop with 20 oz. water, which is my favorite ratio at the moment, on Sunday to recovery faster. So I can lift today with no soreness or anything. But you can see my training log (Rise and Grind (http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?42712-Rise-and-Grind)) and check out what I did for Monday's workout.

But so far with Project A, I have been satisfied with result of recovery phase. I was planning on resting today(Monday) as well but with Project A, I only rested 2 days and I am back at the gym. Anyone who is part of Project A, what is your favorite ratio of Project A to water, do you take it with anything else besides water? Let me know.

I had Flavor 2 with 20oz ice cold water and drank it intra this evening, it was very refreshing. I am finding that I like both better with more than just 10-12oz water.

Today I changed my flavor from flavor 2 to flavor 1, which was the purple one out of two. It was grape flavor in my mouth. Had same amount (1 scoop) with same water (20 oz.) Comparing two flavors, flavor 1(grape) was much sweeter than flavor 2(orange) in my opinion. It could be the reason that grape doesn't have any sourness and orange does. There is no difference in performance in my training. I will try one more time tomorrow and see how it is helping with fatigue reduction.

I went with same flavor today which was flavor 1. I personally think that I like flavor 2 over flavor 1. I think it give me better performance, I think it's just the flavor difference. Orange gives like sourness and sweetness that helps me wake my muscle up more, but grape is just too sweet. It is little bit sour but not as much as orange. I will go back to flavor 2 for tomorrow morning training. It could be the training time that it was more tiring because today was 9 in the morning workout. Happy 4th of July for everyone out there. Took a long break this weekend. When everyone was out drinking and partying, I just ate and bulked up a lil. My body type is type that loses all the gain in workout thru breaks. So I gotta eat a lot to gain or train hard. This weekend I didn't have chance to take Project A but I will be back at it tomorrow, which is Monday. And Monday is always a squat day for me. It was a long break for me. Yesterday and Today, I took flavor 1 with me to training. Not because I like it better than flavor 2, it's simply I want to save up flavor 2 longer than flavor 1. Because I personally like flavor 2 better than flavor 1. But for now recovery has been great so far. I am currently 6 weeks out from my first powerlifting meet and training my best to get best PR in the meet.

RPE for today was 8. A solid 8. I am took flavor 1 with me again today. Today I feel like I did not get full effect from the Project A. Maybe my body is getting used to the supplement(?). I do not know exact answer but recovery did not came fully. Maybe I trained too much couple two days after long break(?). If anyone know the answer, feel free to comment. Here is what I did for training (http://forum.animalpak.com/showthread.php?42712-Rise-and-Grind) though, let me know if that training was too much.

I know you letter said little less than a scoop with 10-12 oz of water. I disobeyed your direction and went with my dosage, sorry. Since I started with this amount, I feel like it might be too sweet if I lower water amount.

Took a break yesterday and I am back at it on Friday. Deadlift party! Of course, I took my Project A with me and Project A always brings good news to my deadlift pull. My results were good. Maybe it was too much workout I guess. Day before this training was bench day. But feel like it could have been skipping one deadlift day on Friday and had 4 day weekend for 4th of July.

Back after a weekend. On the weekend, I did train but not with heavy weights. I trained with light weight and form check. Fixing the minor mistakes little by little. For my squat day today, I took Flavor 1 again with me. I think last week was just tiring day for me because today, squat felt pretty light with Project A. So I guess it wasn't the supplement recovery matter, it was more in mentality issue. Flavor 1 is almost gone. I think one or two scoop left. But more with flavor 2, my personal favorite between the two flavors. Wonder if they are going to be any other flavor...hmm...I would want like grapefruit (grapefruit is my favorite fruit) or blueberry (again...favorite fruit). Just throwing some thought out there. And I wonder how other Project A users are using this product. Are they drinking as pwo? or intra like me? or post? And I see a lot of people using the recommendation amount. But I like my mixture ratio so don't have any thoughts about changing that.

I was taking flavor 2 intra and then flavor 1 mid-day usually with 20-24oz of water. Most of my workouts were early morning but the couple times I had to go to the gym after work I waited and still used it intra. Both flavors are good but flavor 2 was my favorite.
