Hey brothers / sisters,

Question: My uncle makes his homemade deer jerky and brings it to my house by the sandwhich bag full. I'm pretty sure venison is a good form of protein and not to high in bad shit and so forth....but does anything actually know how much protein / fats / carbs is in homemade jerky? anyone make there own? His is smoked i believe and just seasoned w/ pepper and other such spices,

any ideas / guesses ?

That sounds good. I would guess it would run about the same as the stuff you buy in the stores..like buffalo jerky or plain beef jerky. It may have less sodium or more...depends on how your uncle treats it. One thing for sure..you wont have all those added preservatives..its fresh, so its already better for you. I just wouldnt eat a pound of it in one sitting..you would bloat like a whale without its blowhole! LOL

This goes back to my previous question on jerky...why no chicken or turkey jerky anywhere? Ostrick jerky too...ostrich meat is really, really lean and high in protein..just tastes weird. haha!
