View Full Version : The greatest sponsor there is
I just wanted to take a few seconds to thank my sponsor, the greatest sponsor there is and could be. My mom. She pays for my food, a roof over my head, and she's sending me to Halifax for CPU Nationals. She's always there when I need to bitch about a bad training session or brag about a great one! She's been at the two competitions I did in Regina cheering me on and made me promise to get videos of my lifts when I went to Winnipeg for a competition. She's doing a fundraiser for me to go to Nationals... She arranged some donations from contacts through her work and friends and is doing a draw for people who donate 10$ or more.
I haven't gone far in this game, yet. As long as my number one sponsor stays behind me, not always with financial support (I know I'll have to get a job when I'm done school :P), I know I'll do great things. Before powerlifting, it was waterpolo, before that hockey. She's always supported me financially and mentally even when times were tough. I wanted to put out my sincerests thanks even though she'll never read this.

hell yea man i feel you. a family member is the best friend and sponsor you can have on your side when it comes to motivation and dedication. most people dont have that luxury and no one can motivate you better than a supportive family. my family is not supportive but they dont voice there negative opinions. im just alone, but i dont get any negative comments from them either. so i can live with it. make sure you thank your mother sincerely because thats the only crowd you need for success during your meets. if shes cheering for you then fuck everyone else. do it for you and her. good luck with your power meet

Having supportive parents can be an amazing blessing or a curse. On one hand it is great when they support you financially and stuff; however a lot of people take this for granted and become spoiled, therefore never accomplishing their dreams. I wish I had parents that supported my bodybuilding not just financially, but mentally as well.
I know what you mean bro. I know I would not have graduated from college without my mom. She was at everygame in high school, college even some of my really big pickup games at the park when they had money tournaments nothing like it cash for the sports I love ha ha ha. When you make it big deeder make sure you show her a great time for the things she has done for you. Good luck bro....
