anyone have any diet plans that work well with letting the abs come out, when mixed in with lifting every other day? hitting ab's on off days and running on On days?

like 5-6 mealsa day.

Id have to tie it around my school day too, so 2-3 mid day meals couldnt be that big.

should i just eat all healthy shit, and not worry about specifics yet at my age?

I don't think there are diets directly targeting the abs, haha. Your best bet is to have a calorie deficit diet(cutting).

Here's how you figure out your required cals (2 step process):

Now that you have your BMR, use this next link to figure out your required cals.

For cutting, I suggest anywhere from -200 to -500

So is it general rule to only go +/- 500 kcal's from your required levels? despite your cardio amounts?

Ab diets are for TV infomercials.

You're 16, 5'11" and weigh 160 lbs? Exercise your entire body, eat right, your abs will show up. Hit the gym. Do you really want ripped abs and no muscle anywhere else?

If i were 16 i'd start deadlifting and squatting. You'll be packing in no time. Nothing compliments abs like a giant back and collosal shoulders!

i am at work but at home i have a muscle and fitness magazine from last year that had a specific diet to make a better set of abs so if you really want to be strict about your diet and get abs i can type it out tomorrow at some point pm me and let me know if your really interested. i say you pack on some weight do a serious bulk phase before you worry about abs any scrawny fuck can have abs but it takes an animal to build a colossal body. keep that in mind.

dominate the iron...I dont know if this the magazine u were talking about but i remember seeing an article in the 9/2006 issue of Reps about the dos and donts of eating wen looking to get abs. Here are the main points listed:

Eat five or six meals a day(every 2.5 hours)
Dont eat any deep-fried foods.
avoid gravies, sauces, snd syrups
no table salt or sugar
eat ur veggies and brown rice boiled or steamed
forget sugarloaded junk food like cookies, candies, muffibns, chocolates and cakes
use veggie. oil rather than animal fats
have hot oatmeal or with skim milk f/ breakfast
grilled skinnless chicken, egg whites and water packed tuna are the best ab builders.

Hope this helps...

I agree.I don't do a big ab routine, but since I've been doing alot of squats, deadlifts, and chin-ups,I've got a six pack for the first time in my life.
