What is your favorite?

That is a good one Vinny... Anything with salsa and you've got me. I like the extra hot stuff though.

Favorite postworkout meal? After I have my shake, probably london broil and potatoes. Peace, G

I usually cook up 2-3 decent sized eye of round steaks, a cup of steamed vegetables like broccoli or brussel sprouts, and 1 cup of oatmeal. It's the best, plus it's the only time besides breakfast that I eat any other type of carbs except fruits or veggies. Vinny I like yours to, from the universal nutrition site you look meaner and meaner each week. G Diesel I keep up with your bodyspace profile and you are an animal, your workouts are the hardest of hard.

After my shake it's usually 2 cups of brown rice with 8oz of chicken breast. I try to keep veggies and fat to a minimum at this time as it could slow digestion.

This is my hardest meal.I do 60gr Ultra-Iso whey and 50gr dextrose as soon as I finish training. Then I drive home about 30 mins,I'm still not ready for a big meal so I will mix 1 cup white rice and 8oz ground beef and eat that.
Then eat again befor bed.

I hear ya on that Big Al... Immediately after training, it is a struggle for me to get down a whole food meal because my system is all revved up. Once I rest and relax for a while I'm able to eat and my hunger hits me like a ton of bricks. Peace, G

RedIron 392
01-23-07, 5:32 pm
Meat Enchiladas, rice and refried beans, any kind of pasta with meat sauce and sometimes three double 1/4 pounders with cheese. I can't get steak or Yard Bird down after I workout. My carb craving is at it's highest then.

i always throw back some real gains right after i finish lifting to get some clean carbs and protein in, wait 1.5 hours or so and then hunt down some red meat (lately its been either 90/10 ground beef or flank steak) and brown rice or oats, depending on whats on hand. good calls on the combos with salsa, it definitely makes a postworkout meal less of a chore.

01-23-07, 11:42 pm
- Shake w/ peanut butter
- Either hamburger meat with broccoli
- Or marinated cajun chicken grilled up with some hot sauce over Success brown rice, isn't that stuff the best Vinny? 10 minutes in boiling water for 3 cups of rice ready to go. Nothing easier.

Protein Shake - 50 grams of Protein
and a can of your favorite soda for the simple sugars.

Drink that after your workout before you leave the gym.

Within the next hour, get a food meal with at least 50-75 of protein, and 100 grams of complex carbs (pasta, rice, potato, etc..), throw in another sugery drink here also (tea, soda, etc)...

Get some rest.. and GROW!

i take Storm, BCAA's, 40g of whey and a scoop of dextrose (50-60g?)

then, about 30-45 minutes later. sometimes even less. whatever food i already have cooked in the fridge. steak, chicken, hamburgers. maybe cook some eggs. then with fruit and oats blended up together and some nuts on the side.

can't wait for my real gains to come in the mail. might use that. or just save it for a MRP. i already have a 10 lb and 5lb of whey and 15lb's of dextrose.

this is the one meal where I'm not especially portion conscious. 12oz. or more of lean meat, pile of skins-on mashed potatoes with butter, pile of broccoli, spinach, or asparagus, and a few glasses of water. Like I said, it's not really scientific or portion conscious, but I make sure I get enough of what I need, and don't care if I get a little too much. I have a fast metabolism and can afford it.
Directly postworkout, I do 50 g protein powder, 5g creatine, 5g glutamine, and bcaa's with water.

I then have to go sit for 15 minutes because i feel like i might die from being so full. it really helps with the bulking though!

my fav would have to be:

immediatly post work out: 45 g whey, 25 g dextrose, 25 g maltodextrin, 10 g glutamine, 1000mg vitamin c, 200mcg chromium

an hour after the shake: 3-4 eggs, 6 egg whites, a cup of tomato sauce, 1 cup of broccoli

hey what do you guys think? when u train at night or evening...im still pretty sure you should be slamming down 50/50 ratio of dextrose and maltodextrin post work out with ur protein...but should u stick to carbs for the meal after or just veggies with protein? and also....what about just using oatmeal instead of dex and malto? what would be the benefits and cons about that?

My favorite meal huh? Well as soon as im done lifting I take down 40g's of hydrolized protein and my bcaa's and 5g's of glutamine. about a half hour later - 45 minutes later after my system is all cooled down i get really hungry. My favorite I'd have to say is going to the pub and getting a burger with 2 8oz patty's, bacon, melted cheese, mushrooms and onions. With a side of vegtables and a pitcher of water.

After a workout I have my Torrent with some EAA stack. Half hour later, I'm either chomping down some grilled chicken or lean ground turkey. If I lift late as I usually do I don't get out of the gym until 8, so I won't have carbs becuase at this point I'm not trying to get any heavier, but otherwise either a baked potatoe or some rice. Throw in some BBQ and I am one happy man.

Should I go with a shake or a whole food meal? Does it make a difference in the long run? Usually after a workout, I am craving whole food--I can get voraciously hungry...a shake can sustain me for a 1 and half to 2 hours before I have to eat again--but I am by no means "full"--hell maybe even a notch below "content."

Carry the shake with you to the gym and drink it immediately after your workout. Then when you get home eat a whole food meal. That is normally what I do. Keep a choppin.

also with a good protein shake watch what whole foods you are putting in your body if im not mistaken which i could be your body can only absorb between 40-60 grams of protein everything 2 or so hours everything else is pissed out... I stick with fruits or a sandwhich maybe even some rice thats pretty quick...

having a shake after a workout is great. they digest quickly. but waiting 1 and a half hours after the shake is fucking retarded. food takes awhile to digest so get it in quicker. drink your shake, and then eat 30 minutes afterwards. 45 min max

sanga
02-22-08, 5:17 am
lol, retarded? Everyone has their way for what works, I couldn`t have a meal 30 mins after a shake especially after training legs but an hour later I`m ok, I`ve tried all ways and the way that suits me is 1 hr after, some people might have to wait 90 mins and some can eat within 30 mins.

Assuming I already WPI immediately post workout, my favorite post-workout meal is:

The Moh Bowl

3 whole eggs beat with low fat milk
1 can of tuna

Usually down with a cup of milk.

Some may consider the taste nauseating but I grew up on hash so throwing raw material together has never been a problem for me.

If you can't afford Torrent, try 50g dextrose, 5g creatine, 5g glutamine, 40g Whey isolates. That's what we have been using forever, until Torrent desceneded from Supplement Heaven (Universal Nutrition production line). As the saying goes, supplements are the icin' on the cake. If you can't afford creatine or glutamine, then just go whey with dextrose.

we all talk about good carbs vs. bad carbs, fats, etc. but where do sugars fit into a bb's diet?

should we slosesly monitor our intake or sugar? i know sugar turns to fat, etc... but I'm not sure what the whole truth is. if anyone can answer, as well as school me in where to put questions such as these in the future, i would be very pleased.

hmm....i have a variety but basically

beef mince / chicken (8oz or so) combined with rice or pasta and a dash of sauce (either stirfry or bolognese). Panfried chopped onion and pepper in there too. I can knock up to big boxes of this and reheat it through the week...lovely stuff. Plus an ass load of protein and carbs :-)

I prefer my shake before (bout 40g of whey protein) then meal bout 30min after....is this a good way round?

I, like the mighty Native American tribes that have come before us, also think quite highly of the noble buffalo. Good shit bro.

I am very with the way I am, in my whole life I never think about for diet. Yeh, I daily go for Gym for being healthy, actually I personally don't believe in dieting.
I think the best to avoid over weight is to avoid chewing every time. Just eat enough on the time.
And do regularly exercise, never follow any diet chart.
