View Full Version : Pinched Nerve
i'll make this short, i just need some experienced advice. i pinched a nerve in my right arm, let it rest for 3 days, lifted, irritated it even more. tomorrow will be one week since i've lifted anything, and the arm feels pretty good. the fiance says i should still wait another week, but i really miss lifting, i'm going through withdrawals. should i give the arm some more time, just to ensure that it's all good?
Try going progressivly heavier if you feel your arm getting fucked up stop and try a different grip or excercise if it still hurts rest up
totally hear you man! shit sucks bad. ive had them in the past and just 3 mos ago, experienced the same ol / same ol, left hand numb, no grip strength, ect. saw quack and said i have to get 3 discs removed from my neck as they are so screwed up, thus, the headaches and loss of strength / sensation in left hand. got 2 more opinions and they all said the same thing. but i have had 2 back surgeries and shattered my rt. tib and fib and i know i can come back from this, but you hang in there and good luck. i believe a good chiropractor could help u out with your situation.

try taking some ibuprofen and see if part of the irritation is cause by inflammation. I have problems with nailing my sciatic nerve and that suuuuuucks. Ibuprofen usually makes it somewhat tolerable.
thanx brothers, i will be trying out your advice.

I know this is my first post, but my GF is a deep tissue massage therapist. Two weeks ago I did some damage to my neck/trap/back area while splitting firewood. Within a few hours my right arm was almost completely numb with pain and I couldn't even make a fist. I took an overly hot shower, and had her work (massage) on my back, neck and arm. Then another hot shower, then iced the areas. I had 7 knots the size of marbles that would have gotten much bigger if it wasn't for the immediate attention. The next day my arm/back was a little sore, but I was back to lifting. When we all lift the weights that we do, I really think that a GOOD deep tissue massage is necessary. Maybe this can help. I know that not many have a massage therapist that lives with them, but they are everywhere and a good one is worth the money.
