I have been giving some serious thought to entering my first show this year. I was just wondering how you guys went about entering your first show. How did you find it? How did you change your diet and training knowing you were actually "preparing" for something? I just don't want to fuck this up.

Comprehensive contest search engine here:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbcompsearch.htm

You should have no trouble beyond that. You can search level, location, dates, natural yes/no, etc...

I have always wanted to compete its actually a dream and goal of mine. I am doing a lot of reading on how to properly bulk just to make sure everything is going to go well.

I took my measurements and weight, and I am going to log it down every month. Take pics every 2 weeks or every once a month. Look at your weaknesses and see which body parts you feel you need to bring up.

I have to make sure that my supplement intake is very accurate and that you take it at the right time. Most of all dont miss a meal. Cheat meals... I say fuck em until the competition is over. I wont cheat at all. I have been eating extra clean.

These are the supps I am going to be taking now.

All from Universal of course

M-Stak, Pump, Pak, Nitro, Uni-Liver, Real Gains. So far I have been getting great results. Hope this helps.

I know not EVERYONE has the luxury of a coach, especially a posing coach. How do you learn the proper way to pose, just by watching the pros do it, and practicing in front of a mirror or something? This is the kind of stuff I'm curious about. I don't have anyone around to ask about this kind of stuff. Anyone from Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota by chance?

i have a coach, which he's been helping me a little bit along the way.
go on youtube, and there's actually a clip of vinny galanti going over the mandatory poses that are necessary for most organizations.
i would just say to search around on youtube, and then go over them over and over again, as much as possible, maybe ask somebody like your gf to watch you, and see how close you come to them.

you said you were on ellsworth... im trying to think if i know anybody from there. you know anyone from the fire dept?

I went to ALS with a firefighter, but he's definitely no budybuilder. They have their own gym at the fire house, so they never use the base gym.

I am going through the same thing as you bro. I got no coach and no trainers. As far as posing goes I went on www.bodybuilding.com and just searched up posing. Everything I am telling you I learned from the people in the forum by the way. You got to practice 30 minutes a day. I went to my colleges show and one guy just came unprepared you could tell because his posing was way off. I am serious, but I give him a lot of props for stepping up. But come in prepared and practice a lot. I pose everynight infront of the mirror for 30 minutes. As far as learning goes I just watch videos and other stuff.
