Today I heard something that made me understand why I spend so much free time on not only these boards but others as well researching things and trying to learn as much about the lifestyle(training, nutrition, supps) as possible.

I'm hittin chest today, just about to finish up with some cable crosses, when I notice these two dudes walking into the weightroom talkin. One is a guy getting ready to work out, asking for advice. Only problem is he's asking a dude that despite working there, is an absolute moron about pretty much everything. This guy started steroid use as soon as he started weight training, has already stopped working out 5 months later, and pretty much spends his time outside of the gym smoking and drinking. The other guy was asking him what he should throw into his chest routine. So genius walks over to the pulldown part of the cable station. The guy asks "wait isn't that for back?" Here's the response he gave the other guy that literally made my jaw drop:

"Nah bro, behind the neck is for back(demonstrates); front is for chest(pulls down to the chest)."

Sad thing is this guy actually bought it and did them. The other sad thing is this gym wouldn't hire me or two of my buddies, all of us with experience. But they hire this waste of flesh. Geez...

HAHAHA!!! We have a personal trainer at the YMCA I go to that is exactly like that.. on some instances he does know what he is talking about but everytime I tell him something I have read or heard about he is like nah thats not true.. and in the back of my mind I am like you dumb @$$, I hear this from people that have been lifting from before your balls had even dropped...

I am right there with you on that one man.. haha

Lol, that's rediculous. You'd expect someone working in a gym would have some basic understanding of how the body works.

Lol, this is for anyone who reads this. Guys if you see a dumbass telling people the wrong thing just go over to the guy afterwards and set him straight. Because a similiar thing happend and this poor young rookie is following that routine thinking he is improving that area of his body and ends up wasting time. I would know cause when i started this asshole told me some wrong shit. So after your routines just walk over for a minute and become a mentor or just tellem some advice.

That's a very good point, Pokoritel. Just because the trainer is a total dumbass doesn't mean this kid doesn't deserve a little help. He's paying his dues to, right?

or maybe they are like the guy he and the others were talking about they get the wrong advice it doesn't work or ends up injuring them. Have to agree with you somewhat -- we are definitely wired different.
