Ok, i want the truth from people who know.

I'm cutting, so can i have carbs right before i goto bed as long as they're in my daily calorie intake?

I want to have some Oats mixed w/ ANPB and my Protein Shake before i hit the sack. The oats are what keep me from starving in the middle of the night.

Is this acceptable?

If you're cutting, I'd stick with a PF (protein/fat) meal prior to bedtime. My take it is to go with a sustained released protein (eggs, casein, soy even whey mixed in) mix this with some EFA oil (flax Udo's etc) and some peanut butter. If you wanna add some carbs... just go for fibrous carbs (straight fiber).

If you are worried about being hungry in the middle of the night, then mix the protein with natural peanut butter. Or you can keep a jar at your bedside. If you get up to take a leak, then have a scoop, but don't intentionally wake yourself up. I like to have a whey/casein protein mixed with cottage cheese before I go to bed.

cool bros!

Thanks for the info. I kinda already knew what you were gonna say, but i was just wondering if the whole No-Carbs @ bedtime was just a "hear-say" kind of thing.

Right on!

The fat consumed will slow the digestion throughout the night to prevent catabolism. I use whey with flax oil.

Agree with the protein/fat intake advice. only time I would consider carbs later in the evening if did a late weight training session and would take carbs in with PWO shake.

when bulking I will eat carbs at night. I find that it helps the next days workout alot.... alot.

but if you are trying to cut, than take the advice above.

good luck brother.
