I hate labels.

If I had one it would be "powerlifter" thats it.

I feel you man, I lift at a gym that is dominated by powerlifters and people inspired to become one. I am by far the youngest of our close-knit group. I'm 18 and when I started working with them I had just turned the big 1-8. The average age of the group is late 20's with ages ranging from 21-50's. I have been lucky enough to not be judged by my age only my determination, and that puts me near the top among national and world champs.

Theres not much you can do with so many judging by age, prove them wrong...you know what your doing, what your taking and where your headed. Prove em' wrong.

In my world... peoples words mean nothing. I could give a flying fuck what they thought I was on... or what I am doing when attacking the weights.

DOnt worry about those idiots. RIse above them. DOMINATE them.

PWN them.

Hey, Feisal Suleiman, no question there are a lot of whiners out there. However, just wait until you go through a few nasty injuries or surguries yourself before you pass too harsh a judgement.

I am 36 now and have to manage a lot of pain due to old football injuries and knee sugury. I still give it everything I got in the gym, but I look back at the days when I was in my teens and had natural testosterone coarsing through my system and I felt indestructible...man those were good days. Enjoy them while you can buddy. As you get older, your body will turn the tap off on the testosterone and the gains will slow down and the pains will creep up.

I think the key for older guys with aches and pains is learning how to manage them. I have to ice my joints after and use ibuprofine before etc. I really never use them as an excuse, but when a lift is starting to go bad, I will bail out before I do real damage. Knowing good versus bad pain is also a key.

I've said this probably a million times already, but I will say it again "AGE IS JUST A NUMBER" If you feel young then you are young, if you feel old then thats what you will always be, old. Age dont mean nuthing to me, nor the physical appearance of people. If you got determination and the will to change then thats accepted by me no matter what age group you fit into or how old you look. When I am going to be older one day, my ass is still going to be in the gym. Strength and Honor brothers! Remember age is just a number and people always tell me when i get old that i would stop training, but i always say "thank you for sharing bye" and thats all that should be said because i have high expectations for myself.
