While I was back home for Winter break a couple weeks ago, I had just gotten back from the gym, and was making a protein shake when my mom asked me, "Why do you do it? Why do you devote so much time to lifting?" I wish I could've delved into it, why I beat myself bloody day in and day out, why I watch my food intake meticulously, but I just replied with, "Because I enjoy it. It keeps me sane." Just like Machine said so perfectly earlier, she will never understand. I love her, but she will never be able to see things as we do; nor will most other people be able to, for that matter. For whatever reason, everyone (I'm assuming) in this forum has been blessed with some sort of uncontrollable rage inside of them, and we're lucky enough to know how to harness it. Every day I step foot in the gym, I turn a switch. I want to beat every weight into the ground for every single shortcoming that I've encountered in my life. All the hatred for everything that is so wrong in this fucked up world is let out. I would be a time-bomb without lifting, and I thank God every day that I somehow happened to stumble into it. Our common bond is that obsession.
So press on, brothers. See some red, and run the fuck through anything that happens to stand in your way.

Agreed boys, agreed. Theres so many forums that involve flaming, unconstructive critism, bullshit posts etc. This brotherhood has thus far been incredibley positive and informative. I can honestly say I have seen no hostility, there was one situation where I was sure it was about to become hostile but the person who started it apoligized and it was easily resolved. Take some responsibilty to make this a good place and it will continued to pump out priceless info.
