Q: If Animal Nitro is an "essential amino acid" supplement, why doesn’t it contain tryptophan?

Though tryptophan is considered an essential amino acid, as a lifter, you don't need it pre- or post-workout to stimulate anabolism. In these recent studies, tryptophan was not included among the EAAs used. In other words, an EAA supplement does not need to be "complete" (that is, contain tryptophan) to stimulate anabolism among bodybuilders. These studies that looked at EAAs minus tryptophan found that only the other EAAs were needed to stimulate protein synthesis, and create a positive muscle protein balance.
